A/N: Today I am going to post twice. But only for today. The normal schedule is going to be every Monday. Why Monday? Well, because Mondays suck, and I want to help you get through the day. Enjoy the very first chapter of The English Teacher.

A squeal sounded against the walls. You did it! You finally did it! You tossed the acceptance letter on the cluttered coffee table. You had been waiting for that letter so you could go to your dream university. You were an English major and heard many good things about the English department. Things like the teacher's lessons were excellent and easy to remember, and that if you were to ever fall behind in studies there was tutoring with your professor.

You had never been so happy in your life. The best part was the apartment you were planning on renting was close to the school. Speaking of living arrangements, your best friend, Aris White, had gotten accepted to the same university as you. You already knew she had planned that. Even though she was majoring in photography. You and Aris had know each other since kindergarten. But by the fourth grade, you started to call her Poe because she had a huge obsession with Jack Black's role in Kung Fu Panda. It kinda grew on her, because now she hates her real name.

Poe and you both packed up your old room. Shoved it all in the bed of her 2010 Ram truck, and drove to the docks. You used to live on the military base of Honolulu, Hawaii, but you were born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Your mother was in the Navy, but she retired the year you graduated. The farie floated you, Poe, and Poe's truck across the ocean. As soon as you got to shore you got extremely gitty. The excitement almost made you nauseous.

After about two months, you and Poe had settled down in the three bedroom apartment. You both got your own rooms and the third room, you decided to use as a game room. You both had a soft spot for video games. Poe had brought her Xbox 1 and you brought your Play Station 4. Stacks on stacks of video game cases cluttered around the room.

"We might want to invest in cuboards." You laughed.

"That may be wise, Y/n" Poe agreed.

The apartment itself seemed small on the outside, but it pretty big on the inside. Both your's and Poe's bedroom could fit a queen sized matress, a dresser, and a desk. You liked your room dark and cold but Poe liked her's bright and warm. Meaningless to say, you had curtains hung up, and a fan set up by your bedside.

After unpacking everything, you got comfy on your bed and opened your laptop. The desktop screen was a picture of your family and Poe standing on the shores of Honolulu. You were already feeling homesick. You open your email to see if you had gotten any messages. Sure enough, there was one unread email from the university.

ATTENTION: Students, we hope you all are prepared to start the new semester. All the faculty are so excited to meet each and every one of you. Older students will guide the new comers around campus to show them their classes. Click the link below to receive your schedule.

You drag your figure across the mouse pad and clicked the link. A white sheet of paper popped up.

Class 1: Video Game Eng. P. Gene

Class 2: Creative Wri. P. Fischbach

Break

Class 3: Technology Bas. P. Xavier

Class 4: History of Wri. P. Fischbach

Reason why you were taking Technology Basics was because your parents wanted a back up plan if the writing idea didn't work out. They never really understood why you wanted to pursue that career to begin with, so just to please them, you put that class on your selection.
