I had finally arrived at Rita's show

I had finally arrived at Rita's show. I was a good friend of hers and I wanted to make sure I wished her good luck before she went out on stage. Running breathlessly down the corridor and skating to a halt outside her dressing room. I knocked twice.

"Who is it?" I heard my favourite voice.

"It's Lia."

"Come in babe."

"I just wanted to wish you good luck before you went out. Not that you will need it because you're always awesome out there. I planned to have been here earlier but the traffic has been so bad and-"

"Lia babe, you're rambling." The blonde giggled. "Are you okay?" She pulled me into a tight hug and it made me feel so safe.

The truth is, I had fallen deeper in love with Rita everyday. But I couldn't tell her how I felt. I always seemed so nervous around her. She would pick up my unusual habits but not really think into them. In a way, I was glad.

"Yeah. I'm fine." I finally spoke with a false smile, knowing that deep down was a huge sense of longing for this blonde.

"Good. It's so sweet you've made the effort to wish me luck." Rita pecked me on the cheek. This was the first time I had felt her lips, they were plump and soft.

How I wish that was on my lips.

"Do you now?"

"What?" I stared at her blankly.

"You said that out loud. You have some explaining to do later Lia." The blonde winked before she left to go on stage.
