Percy raked his fingernails over his bare abdomen as he laid on his bed in basketball shorts and a tank top. He was thinking about how he should talk to Annabeth next. How should he approach her? Maybe he could meet her at her house?

Percy sat up and looked around his hotel room before grabbing his notepad to see everything Grover told him that he needed to fix when he came back so he could come back prepared for all the drama and other crap.

Percy sighed and ran a hand through his hair before standing and grabbing his phone and looking to see several messages from Rachel who's contact picture he had changed. She said she wanted to talk but she also said she hated him, but then she'd apologize for doing something he didn't like. Of course, she asked how she could change and stuff but Percy never answered because there was nothing she could do that would change his mind about Annabeth.

Percy quickly got dressed and exited his hotel room with his luggage knowing it was the last day he had said he would stay there. He checked out and went to his car throwing the luggage into the trunk before sitting in the front seat and starting the car.

~~

He had somehow obtained Annabeth's information from the local post office lady who Percy could've sworn had hearts in her eyes when she realized who he was. It was too easy, but Percy was thankful to know where she lived.

Now as he stood on the front porch of her house looking at the door dread in his eyes as he wondered if she was even home or not. There was a garage so he didn't know if she had parked her car inside it or not. He stood and starred a little longer as he tried his best not to hyperventilate. Sure he understood why she had run away from him the first time. He was intruding on her sunny day in the park and he had left on a bad note they last time she saw him... That was several years ago.

Percy drew in a deep breath and closed his eyes for a second before opening them and making himself ring the doorbell of her strangely beautiful house for the neighborhood she was in. He waited a few minutes before ringing it again a calming feeling going over him that she might not be ho-

The door opened to reveal Annabeth in her PJ's, why she was wearing PJ's in the middle of a Saturday afternoon Percy had no idea.

"Oh," she said looking at him her face went from a resting face to a sad slightly angry looking face. "Hi," Percy said and Annabeth crossed her arms silence suddenly settling between them.

In the silence, Percy couldn't help himself but examine her further. Her PJ's were a loose t-shirt very short shorts and fluffy socks... By short Percy meant very short. As if he wasn't already tempted by this woman enough.

Percy cleared his throat his cheeks now a light pink. He was about to speak but he realized what he was about to say was stupid and too formal... They were friends for goodness sake? Percy sighed and began to speak.

"A-Annabeth, I came here to apologize."

"Ok, I forgive you bye."

Annabeth slammed the door and Percy grit his teeth. Seriously Annabeth? We're going to do it this way, are we?

"Annabeth!" Before planted some heavy loud knock on her wooden door. "If I know you at all I know you want me to beg on my hands and knees for your forgiveness." Percy backed up and waited for a response.

The door began to slowly open. Percy smiled warmly just before she popped her head out to look at him. Annabeth looked him in the eyes for a moment a quizzical look on her face before she sighed in defeat and stepped out with him again.

"Thank you," Percy said gratefully before continuing.

"I came here to apologize for leaving you, and slowly losing contact over time as I.. I became famous..." Percy looked down and cleared his throat. He thought about what he said about begging on his hands and knees. He instantly started blushing but he didn't care what others thought. anything to get her to talk to him again.

"So I uh," He moved in a position to get down. "I wanted to apologize." He got down on his knees before leaning on his palms as he looks at the ground. "Please forgive me Annabeth for being the biggest jerk there is." Percy closed his eyes for a moment before he heard slight snickering.

He looked up just in time to see she was taking a picture. Percy really blushed now. "A-Annabeth!" He began to stand but she pushed him back down. "I still haven't forgiven you yet." She said and Percy groaned. He was doomed if she posted this on any sort of social media.

"Please Annabeth..." Percy begged. His knees were starting to hurt.

There was some silence before a serious sigh. Annabeth had become serious again. "I forgive you, Percy." She grabbed his chin and made him look up at her her face inches away from his. She glared into his eyes sending a shiver down his spine.

"Are you happy? Now, please leave. Today is my day off and I really didn't need you to come and stress me out, Jackson." She pulled away and Percy drew in a deep breath before standing up and nodding.

Annabeth stepped back inside and looked at him again. "I may have forgiven you Jackson but it's going to take a lot more than begging on your hands and knees for me to let you back into my life." With that, Annabeth closed the door.

Suddenly the warmth Percy was feeling from her presence left his body and he shivered an eerie feeling of rejection coming over him.

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair before turning and leaving walking back to his car. He drove off the interaction playing through his head over and over again as he analyzed it.

His final conclusion was very simple.

He had hurt her very badly, he had crushed her heart and she was still angry at him for that. He had basically just ripped off a scab off an old wound. But how could he make it better? He needed to fix this. He couldn't live without her. He didn't want to even think about the idea.

But what broke Percy the most was that he was the cause of her pain. He had made her suffer. That's what hurt the most.
