Chapter 6: Memories
Artemis pov
I can't believe this. I have never seen Kaldur cry before. Not even when Joker dislocated his shoulder and Conner had to snap it back in place. This is ridiculous! I ran out of the room where the team was and headed to the portal. I was stopped by the king of morons himself Oliver.
"Where are you going?"
"None of your damn business." I bark at him.
"You respect your mentor young lady." Arthur inputted.
"Since when did you become Mr. Morals. Get out of my way." I ordered pushing Ollie aside.
"Where are you going?" Oliver screamed.
"To fix your mistake. Kaldur is in the balcony balling in Mera's shoulder and you think you made the right call."
"Yes." They both said.
"Then your damned fools." Batman spoked.
He hasn't said a word since Roy left.
"I beg your pardon." Arthur spoke in shocked.
"Kaldur is a good leader and became a better one with Roy at his side. If this begins to affects his decisions as leader then you are a damn fool for making him do it." Batman explained.
"That is the smartest thing I heard all day. You two need to open your freaking eyes and see that you two are monsters. Now if you two dummies excuse me I have to make sure Roy doesn't do something stupid. Well not as stupid as Arthur's but you get the point." I ran off to the portal and punched in the code.
I walked through the portal and was in Star City. I run to Roy's apartment and find his room number. I knock on the door gently but loud enough for him to hear.
"Roy. Let me in please." I asked gently.
I pushed the door and it was unlocked. I see Roy on the patio looking at the view and something in his hand. I walk out to the patio and touch Roy's shoulder.
"Hey. Are you alright?" I asked softly.
I look over his shoulder and he is looking at pictures of him and Kal.
"Hey Arty. What's up?" He asked after clearing his throat.
"I came to check on you. Which one is your favorite." I asked.
He clicks on the picture with him and Kal at a carnival, on a ferries wheel and Kaldur placing a kiss on Roy's cheek.
"It was at the valentines day carnival and Kal had the day off. He's never been to a carnival so I took him. I played one of the games and I was going to give him a bear. But the whole time Kaldur was looking at the turtle so I got him that instead. I never seen him so happy. I got him to go on the ferries wheel after fighting him for 5 mins. When the fireworks went off he jumped and hid in my shoulder. I calmed him down and he gave me that kiss. He still doesn't know I took that pic." He said sadly with tears streaming down his face.
I've never seen him so sad. I give him a hug while his tears dampen my shoulder. I rub his back and stroke his hair. Trying anything I can to make him stop crying.
"Did I make Kaldur do the right thing?" Roy finally asked after 20 mins.
"To be honest. No, you didn't. But you did what you believe was right. And I guarantee that batman isn't happy either. Kaldur chewed Oliver and Arthur out when you left. Along with team, BC and Mera." I said trying to comfort him.
"Is Kal ok? How upset is he?"
"Do you want me to be honest?"
"Yeah."
