'I'm in my bed, you're in your bed. One of us is in the wrong place.'

~ Unknown

Alia P.O.V.

It was almost midnight when I heard the sound of the door opening and closing. I sprung to my feet and literally ran to the entryway, letting out the breath I'd been holding since seven when I saw Varun stood there, perfectly unharmed. 'What the hell kind of time do you call this?' I demanded, feeling rage overcome me once I'd ascertained that he was okay. 'I get you were with your girlfriend but you could've texted!'

'Oh don't you start.' he muttered, toeing off his shoes.

'Don't give me that attitude. You said you'd be back by dinner Varun. It's almost midnight! I've been worried sick and you come waltzing in like nothing's wrong. So, yes, I bloody well will start.' I snapped.

'What'd'you care?' he shot back at me, finally looking at me. Now that I could see him properly, I could recognise what was wrong. One look at his face let me know that he'd been drinking, something I should've been able to tell from his voice but I'd been too angry to pay attention.

'You're drunk.' I stated with a sigh.

'No, 'm not.' he denied. ''m perfectly-fine.' To prove his point, he began to walk towards me, attempting to make his feet go in a straight line and tripping over them instead. I caught him and helped him to stand, keeping my hands on his shoulder and waist to help him balance.

'You're completely wasted VD.' I informed him, getting a shake of his head in response.

'I am completely sober.' he insisted, the slurring of his words and the giggle following them proving him wrong. 'Okay, maybe 'm sliiiightly tipsy.' he conceded, holding his finger and thumb an inch apart to demonstrate.

'Come on, let's get you to bed.' I said, helping him wrap an arm around my shoulders and keeping my arm around his waist to support him.

'You know, you're a really good friend.' he told me as we began to walk towards our room.

'Uh-huh.' I muttered, barely paying attention.

'Really, you are. And I'm a jerk to you.' I didn't respond, focusing on getting us up the stairs instead. 'I'm sorry for be'n a jerk. But 'f it helps any I stood up fo'you 'gainst Natasha. And I think she thinks 'm a jerk now too. But 's'okay. Cause she was talkin' shit 'bout you.'

'Varun, would you please just be quiet?' I asked as we finally entered our room.

'But I need t' tell you this.' he insisted. I sighed, deciding it would be best to ignore him and get him into bed as quickly as possible. Making sure he was steady, I let go of him, his arm dropping to his side as I stepped out from under it. 'Woah, hold up a sec.' he mumbled as I began to tug his t-shirt over his head. 'Le's 't'least talk 'bout this first.'

'Get your mind out of the gutter. I'm just trying to get you into pjs.'

'Oh, okay.' he shrugged, allowing me to get his jeans off, watching me with a goofy smile on his face. He didn't say anything as I helped him pull a pair of bottoms on and guided him to the bed, pulling the blanket back and making him sit down. 'Seriously Alia, you're an amazing friend.' he told me again.

'Seriously Varun, you're smashed. Go to sleep.' I said, pushing him down and pulling the quilt up.

'Stay with me?'
