The 100 Walks with the Dead

Chapter 3

     Upon arrival Clarke and Bellamy were greeted by LCDR Marcus Kane and Dr. Abby Griffin. "Clarke we need to head to med bay 1 the children were close to a few stragglers before we saw the horde." Abby looked at the new comers "If you have wounded follow us otherwise stay with Kane he'll give you something to do" With that Clarke kissed her husband and followed her mother to get to work.

"Boss Lady, mind if I follow you with the little one so she can get help?" Daryl asked Clarke. Abby, hearing this chuckled a bit but nodded to her daughter.

"Yes Daryl, but please just call me Clarke, I'm not to boss here." Clark said.

"As you say Boss Lady." He replied with a smirk. Looking at his group he nodded, " Sophia, Carol and Carl we should follow the Boss Lady, they could help y'all."

With that they all moved to where they were needed. Daryl, Carol, Sophia and Carl were with Clarke and Abby in the med bay. " Ok so who wants to be first? My mom can take care of Carol and her daughter and I'll take Carl and Daryl or the other way around? What do you say?"

"Ma'am, I would like it if you just looked at my daughter I'm fine." Carol stated meekly.

Clarke went to work on the little girl. " Ok so I'm going to tell you what I'm doing as I do it so you know every step of the way. First I'm going to check her heart and lungs then I'm going to draw some blood to see if everything is ok on that front. I would like it if I was able to check over you as well. I'm going to be doing these tests on your whole group but the children are first." With that said Clarke went to work. When she was done she looked to her mom to see if she was done. Seeing that she just finished with Carl she looked to Daryl and Carol, "Ok who's next?"

"I would like it if you worked on me Boss Lady, I feel more comfortable wit' ya." Daryl said.

"Ok then same thing, heart, lungs and a blood test." Clarke said. She went to work. "So Daryl why do you feel more comfy with me and not my mom? She has more experience than me." Clarke asked.

"Well Boss Lady, you have a good head on your shoulders and you took charge when my boy's had a gun pointed at ya. Ya don't look like ya scare easy and yer kinda a badass ya know." Daryl said with a shy smile.

"Um thanks I think. Ok well you're all done, we'll have the test back in a couple of minutes, do you want to stay and wait or tell you as a group?" Clarke stated.

Carol looked at Clarke, "We'll wait for the whole group, if that's ok."

"Of course that's fine. Will you follow me? I'll take you back and give the tests to everyone. Then we can give out the result, how does that sound?" Clarke said.

Receiving nods from the 4 newcomers Clarke set out to find everyone else. When she reached outside the med bay into the basecamp Clarke saw that everyone had everything under control and were assessing the damage. Clarke made a high pitch whistle to get everyone's attention. "Everyone listen up, now that we have the threat under control we need to have all newcomers to the front, myself and a few of my colleagues will draw some blood and review the results after which time we will reveal them to you. The reason for the tests is several things, first to check your health, if you have any defects and what not, second, to see if anyone else is either immune or have a mutation we don't know about. And last is to have your blood type on hand if need be. So who would like to go first? I have already tested Daryl, Carol, Sophia and Carl."

Rick looked around his group and said " Alright y'all know the drill we did the same at the CDC." Rick stepped forward. After that everyone else stepped behind him in a single line.

"When you entered the camp you all stated your name, I will call your name and a number, that number will step up to one of the doctors with a corresponding number, I am number 1, Dr. Griffin is number 2, Dr Trikru is number 3, Dr Monroe is 4, and Dr. Nyko is 5. Rick Grimes 1, Glenn Rhee 2, Maggie greene 3, Rosita Espinosa 4, Tara Chambler 5, Abraham 1, Sasha Williams 2, Tyreese Williams 3, Paul Rovia 4, Shane Walsh 5, Morgan Jones 1, Aaron 2, Bob Stookey 3, Denise Cloyd 4, Noah 5, Ezekiel 1, and Cesar Martinez 2. Once you are with your doctor we will start. We will check your heart, lungs, and then the blood test. Ok everybody find your doctor and let's get to work." With that said Clarke moved to set up her station.

After all tests were complete, Clarke and Bellamy had the group gather to give the results. "Ok here is how we're going to do this when your name is called you have the option to let everone find out together, or alone. "Rick Grimes" He stood and nodded his head meaning he wanted them to hear, " Your blood type is A+, you're allergic to cherries, you have the Z-Gene." Clarke said.

"What is the Z-Gene?" Rick asked.

"The Z-Gene means you are immune Mr. Grimes." Clarke stated. Upon seeing confirmation to continue she did. "Abraham Ford, O-, you are allergic to wheat and you do not have the Z-Gene, I'm sorry." Abraham just nodded sadly and sat back down. "Morgan Jones, AB-, no allergies and no Z-Gene. Ezekiel, B+, dairy allergy, Z-Gene. Glenn Rhee, B-, no allergies, Z-Gene. Sasha Williams, O+, allergic to pineapple, Z-Gene, Aaron, A-, allergic to tomatos, Z-Gene, Caesar Martinez, AB+, No allergies, no Z-Gene, Maggie Greene, B-, No allergies Z-Gene, Tyreese Williams, O+ Apple allergy, Z-Gene, Bob Stookey, O+, no allergy, no Z-Gene, Rosita Espinosa, AB+, no allergies, Z-Gene, Paul Rovia, A+, allergic to soy, Z-Gene, Denise Cloyd, AB-, no allergies, no Z-Gene, Tera Chambler, AB-, allergic to strawberries, Z-Gene, Shane Walsh, B+, No allergies, no Z-Gene, Noah, A+, no allergies, Z-Gene, Sophia Peletier, B-, no allergies, no Z-Gene, Carol Peletier, B-, No allergies, Z-Gene, Carl Grimes, A+, no allergies, Z-Gene, and Daryl Dixon O-, no allergies, Z-Gene. If any of you have any questions ask one of the doctors or myself. I'm sorry for those of you who received bad news. Thank you for your time." Clarke looked around the group with mixed feelings. Bellamy grabbed her hand and lead her to her work station.
