The room had marbled flooring with white walls, and a golden trim on the edges. There was a stone throne in the back of the room. Smaller furniture covered the rest of it. Paintings of landscapes hung on the walls.

There were only a few people when I entered. They all but gawked at me. I felt like I was on trial, but for what? I haven't done anything as far as I know.

I wished my father or Luna could have been there with me, but God wouldn't allow it. So, I was alone standing before him.

"Do you know why you were summoned?" his voice boomed throughout the room.

"No," I stood strong despite the fear pulsing through my body.

"You relax, child. You are not in trouble. I have brought you here for another reason."

I couldn't help to sigh in relief, "Then what do you want?"

"How old are you?"

"I will be nineteen in six months."

He nods leaning forward, "I have decided to give you the chance. A chance to come live in heaven."

"Why would I want that?"

"Well, you may not want to, but every creature is given the chance to choose good."

"Alright, then what must I do?"

"You must live on Earth for two years. I've already arranged a place for you to live, but you are on your own. After the two years you will be brought back to me where you shall be judged."

"What?! I can't leave hell! I can't leave my father! That's my home!" Guards came and grabbed my arms. They began to pull me away, "Let go of me!" I yelled.

"Enough!" The guards dropped me and stepped back, "The decision has been made. You have three hours to say good bye and pack your things."

Before I could say anything I was back in my room. My father came running in. He picked me up and hugged me, but all I could do was cry.

"What's wrong, Lucia?" he put me down and wiped my tears.

"I... I have to go," I hugged him tightly.

"What do you mean? Is God punishing you?" he hugged back stroking my hair.

I shook my head, "He said he is giving me a chance to choose good."

"Isn't that a good thing, my child?"

"No. He wants me to stay on Earth for two years."

"What..." he looked at me, "Then, don't do it. Don't go. Refuse the offer and stay."

"I have no choice. He gave me three hours to pack up and say good bye."

"No. No! You can't! You're my daughter!"

I began to cry again, "I'm so sorry, Father. I wish I could stay."

"Hush now. It's okay. I am just upset, but it is not your fault. If God wants you to live on Earth for two years, then you shall."

"But-"

"No. Listen to me, Lucia. You will go to Earth and do your best. I want you to have a chance to be the angle I couldn't."

"I will miss you, though."

He smiled softly, "I will miss you, too. But you must do this, for me," he looked into my eyes, "For your mother."

"If it is what you wish, Father, then I will do it."

Luna wrapped her tail around me in attempt to keep me from leaving. We were near the edge of the Path of Sorrow.

"I have to go, Luna. I'll be back before you know it," petting her tail she whimpered.

'I will make sure to take good care of her while you're gone."

I tried not to cry as I ran over and hugged my father. He hugged me back and I couldn't help but let a tear slip.

"I'm going to miss you so much, Father."

Wiping the tear from my cheek he smiled, "I will, too," he looked into my eyes, "You have your mother's eyes. The same glint of light shines in them."

I gently grabbed his hand, smiling back, "I know. You've told me before."

He kissed my forehead and hugged me, again, "I love you, Luciana."

"I love you, too, Father," I hugged him back.

"Take good care of yourself. Okay?"

"I promise."

"It's time," an angel, who usually guards me when I visit Earth, said.

After saying one last good bye I grabbed my things and walked over to him. He took hold of my wrist, then I was in a small apartment.

"This is where you will live for the next two years. Rent has been paid till the end of the month. That should be enough time to find a job. This is where I leave you. See you in two years."

He vanished before I could respond. I just stood here, looking around the room. The living room, dining room, and kitchen were in one big space. Walking into a room in the back of the living room I found the bedroom. It had a queen sized bed in the center of the room against the back wall. The bed was covered with a black and red comforter and sheets. Two more doors led to a bathroom and closet. The whole apartment looked as if it was built in hell.

"At least they tried to get the home sweet home feeling," I said to myself as I threw my bags on the bed and went into the kitchen.

There was a reasonable amount of food in the fridge and cabinets, but I knew that if I didn't get a job soon it would eventually run out and I would starve. So, grabbing my keys and new phone, I went out to look for one. I couldn't just lay down and whine over leaving home. I had to keep my promise and do the best I can on Earth.
