Percy's POV:
What could be more embarassing than your dad having a temper tantrum on your date?
I was just trying to treat Annabeth to a nice day at the beach. She seemed tired lately, like her nightmares were affecting her more than mine were.
But for some reason, the wind was super strong, the water was freezing cold, and the animals refused to be nice. A shark swam up and growled, and I didn't even know sharks could do that.
I thought it was some great ocean being rising up from the depths that would take forever to defeat and probably cause a war of some sort, but then something hit my foot.
It was a message in a bottle. Like a real life message in a bottle.
It read, "Forgetting something? -Dad."
I showed it to Annabeth and her face scrunched up all cute like it does when she's thinking. Just don't tell her I called her cute because then she'd kill me.
I saw the lightbulb go off in her head, "Father's Day!"
I cursed under my breath, before writing using Riptide like we had in Tartarus, as a pen.
"Sorry Dad! I'll make it up to you by buying you something really nice! I promise! But can I have a nice date?"
I threw it back into the ocean and was greeted with a massive wave washing over us. So a picnic in the forest it was. I just hope he hadn't turned Demeter against me. Well, even more so than she already is.
Annabeth was too busy laughing at me, even though she was drenched as well, to help pack up the stuff. Look, the water took me by surprise, so I couldn't defend myself and keep myself dry.
"Love you too Dad." I muttered under my breath, before grabbing Annabeth's hand and flipping off the ocean with my free one.
