Percy's POV:
I was just trying to surprise Annabeth.
I had gotten her this really nice celestial bronze knife to replace the one that had fallen in Tartarus (as boyfriends do), but she was busy working on rebuilding Olympus.
The Athena cabin was pretty much empty since the majority of them were gone for the summer. Only Malcolm was in there, and when he saw me walk in he left, ignoring the rules. In fact, I'm pretty sure he muttered something along the lines of "Percabeth has their own rules." but I think I was just hearing things.
"Annabeth." I sang.
Silence.
"Annabeth Chase!" I tried again.
Nothing.
"Annabeth, the smartest, most beautiful, wonderful person in the world!"
Crickets.
"Seriously?" I whined, flopping onto the bed, "I have a surprise for you."
"You're welcome." she muttered, lost in thought.
At least I got a response.
"Can you turn away from your work for two minutes?" I asked.
"Have fun."
"Annabeth, Blackjack says he hates you."
"Under the desk."
"My mother died."
"Bookshelves have answers."
"I'm cheating on you."
"Get Leo to fix it."
Leo! That was a good idea. If he did something stupid, she would notice and get mad. I ran out of the Athena cabin and found him at the Big House, one wine pun away from getting turned into a dolphin by Mr. D. I dragged him away just in time and stopped right outside the Athena cabin.
"Annabeth is in zombie mode again." I said.
He groaned, "I hate Zombie Annabeth. If I can't get to Wikipedia without getting eaten by monsters, the next best thing is Annabeth. Or maybe even the better thing. And now I can't get to both! This sucks as much as Zeus and Hera's marriage."
"Look, just help me get her out. If you threaten her work, she'll snap out of it."
"And then I'll be dead!" he squeaked, "So no Wikipedia, no Annabeth, and no Leo!"
"Well, there will be Wikipedia and Annabeth, but no you. But that's a sacrifice we can make." I said.
He sighed, "I'm not getting out of this, am I?"
I shook my head and we walked inside. He lit his hand on fire and held it near her paper. She didn't notice yet and so I leant my head down and got in her face, "Leo is about to burn your blueprints."
Her eyes widened and she leapt back, shoving Leo away and his hand into my face which lit my hair on fire.
So now Leo was on the floor through someone's now broken bed, Annabeth was trying to shield her manuscripts and yelling at me, and I was leaping around like a baby bird trying to take flight, shrieking my head off.
"For gods sake, you're the son of Poseidon!" Annabeth yelled, "Put it out with water."
It got to my attention that I should and I quickly used water from the bathroom to put my hair out. Looking in a mirror, my hair was now slightly singed.
I pouted and Annabeth came up behind me and kissed me on the cheek, "I got you a gift." I said.
"Yeah?" she asked.
I nodded and pulled out the box with the knife, opening it. Her eyes welled up and she grabbed it, "Percy!"
She kissed me and we stayed like that. After sheathing it, she smiled at me.
"I love you, even if Leo did mess up your hair."
"That reminds me! LEO!" I yelled, running off after the scared guy, who had already run out of the cabin.
As I chased him around the cabins, I saw Annabeth laughing her head off outside of the Athena one, and grinned, before pinning Leo to the ground and wrestling with him.
