The Return

The ride to the Kryptonian ship site in Metropolis was a long one. With Barry driving at the wheel dressed in his military outfit. Arthur, Victor and Shivani all seated in the trunk with Clark's casket. Bruce and Diana were watching from afar waiting for them to arrive at the gate, and then to be cleared to move forward and past it. Shivani stuck to the far corner of the truck. The blanket still wrapped around her while keeping her face downcast to the metal floor. They all felt the turn and sudden jolt as they made it to their destination.
The Atlantean and the tattooed beauty both watched as the light on Victor's head turned red. His glowing eye flickering before returning back to normal. The truck moved forward again as Barry upfront on the wheel was cleared. The speedster parked the vehicle close to the front entrance. The back doors were swung open and Victor was to first to get out, Arthur following and pulling the casket out with him.
The cyborg helped him place it on the metal gurney. Bruce and Diana soon made their appearance next to them. The end of her blanket giving a little cushioning, and some of it spilling over the edge.
"I'm worried about what'll happen. I'm worried for Clark, even though I've never met him. Bruce sees this as the only way. I really wish that there could be another solution." Shivani looks down at her lap.
Technically, there was another solution. Her. But that risk was definitely not one to take under any circumstances. Diana places a comforting hand on her arm.
"Me too. But like you said he sees this as the only way. And sadly we've already reached this point." The warrior gave her arm a squeeze, "I have to go catch up with the others. In case anything happens, wait for one of us to come for you."
Watching Diana go Shivani was left alone on the truck to her thoughts. Her hands fiddled with the soft material of her sweat pants and found herself staring at the entrance the others went through to get into the ship. She was a part of this team. Yet she couldn't find herself to move off the truck. And they all seemed fine with it, at least. This whole thing still felt wrong. And she felt...
