Beauty In Despair

Shivani was falling.
She was descending down and rather fast towards her impending death. Her long dark locks waved and whipped widely around her face, blurring her vision, heart beat pulsing loudly in her ears and making them ring. What she was feeling in this moment—the devastating words spat at her by Steppenwolf who had tossed her off as if she was nothing.
Flashes of the earth set ablaze and her in the middle of it all, powerless, then suddenly being consumed in the flames as nature died and everything she knew and loved was destroyed.
Shivani squeezed her eyes shut. Just waiting for it to be over.
Everything was just to much.
Right before her body could hit the ground she jolted mid air, feeling arms wrapped around her waist and the wind around her come to a complete stop. There was a familiarity to the hands that grabbed her along with the intense feeling of heat before everything went dark.

Shivani felt extremely cold.
The salty smell was the first thing that hit her nostrils. The scent and the sound of roaring waves crashing aganist rocks. Blinking away the darkness from the corners of her vision she slowly regained back to consciousness.
All the events that had taken place before.
Finding the Nest.
Those kidnapped people.
The fighting.
That voice.
His voice.
Steppenwolf.
A feeling of despair crashed through her. And a familiar numbness that's been felt before, but was intensified this time around somehow. The cold engulfed her body and seemed to seep into her skin and to her very bones. The tattooed beauty laid there in her suit on the shore completely drenched. Not finding any strength to move. A loud splash came from bellow her and soon the clanking of metal footsteps approaching her in strides. A blurry wet figure came and stood in front of Shivani wearing strange looking armor with a long peculiar weapon in hand. Was that...
Arthur?
She went to speak his name but nothing come out. Just a horse croak. The Atlantean kneeled down over her frame, the look on his face one full of relief and worry.
