Part two of the plan involved talking to Daud alone after lunch, then he left the Spymaster with part three, which involved Daud, Elaine...and someone else he'd owe another time as well.
"I must admit, I'd forgotten about here for a while." Elaine said to Daud after going along with his request to accompany him to the shrine. "There's been too much happening up until now."
"He'll understand." Daud smiled at her. "In fact, you may find that he's more than willing to prove that."
She knew that too and more than any of them, so there was no surprise in her body when the Outsider appeared a minute or so later, regarding them both with a warm smile.
"Unless you start explaining, Daud, I might get cross with you."
The God's first words caused Elaine to look towards Daud with suspicion. "...what's going on?" She asked.
"He has a proposition."
"...yeah." Daud grinned sheepishly at her. "Y'see, it kinda goes like this. You'd have been with Corvo later tonight, yeah? I think it was sposed to be his turn with you?"
"Yeah, that's right." She nodded.
"I'd lose track if it were me. Anyway, he's wantin' to ask a big favour from all of us. He's after Billy."She paused, then her eyes widened in understanding. "Oh. So... he wants Billy tonight? Why hasn't he told me?"
"Reason is, cos' he thought it might be better comin' from the people that you're gonna get instead."
She then looked at the Outsider, and he began to approach.
"I'm not really overly-fond of such deception wherever I see it." The God said as he walked over. "More so when it involves someone that I...feel for."
"...you what?" Daud blinked.
"But." The Outsider continued. "This looks to be a very good opportunity, so I am amenable to the idea. Corvo will owe all of us, and we can claim that however we wish."
"Haha, I never thought of it like that. Yeah, you're right. He owes us, after all, he'll sure end up payin' for it later."
"Exactly. And not only that, it means that I get both of you far sooner than I was previously expecting. Specially you." He said, taking hold of Elaine's left hand. She still looked quite unsure about all of this, so Daud decided to do a little more persuading by taking hold of her waist and targeting her neck on the right-hand side.
She felt that, then looked at the Outsider and saw that he was steadily closing-in too. This would be...a bit of an odd combination, she thought to herself. Would this even work? Daud's so forceful, and the Outsider's...
It seemed like it would work, though. It was right now.
"...I reckon he'll owe us rather a lot." She then smiled.
"Oh yeah." Daud grinned at her. "That he will."
"I think you'll find that this group will be very rewarding." The Outsider added in a typically-vague manner.
Elaine thought about it a bit more, then nodded. "Very well." She agreed. "I guess I won't give him an earful about it."
She did still speak to him about it though, not long after leaving the shrine, and Corvo was suitably apologetic as well as also being very grateful...with a small demonstration of that.
The rest of the day carried on as normal, everyone going about their usual business and Billy heading back to the Pub for a while to make sure that the other assassins didn't think he'd left them.
They all met up again properly at six for dinner, then went to Corvo's room afterwards for a few drinks."Found some more of this at the Market." Elaine said as she gave them all a glass of Chattersley Manor Red.
"...what's this?" Billy asked. "Funny-lookin whisky, this is."
She giggled. "It's called, having a change. You might like it."
He grinned briefly before trying some. "Not bad." He said.
"See? Don't worry, you won't fall over or anything. Not unless you drink this all by yourself."
"He might fall over from whisky withdrawal." Daud joked.
"Piss off." Billy laughed.
After making plans to visit the Bounty the next day and working through that bottle, Elaine and Daud decided to leave an hour and a half later so that they could start their own plans at eight, which also left Corvo and Billy alone for theirs.
Well...it was Corvo's plan, he was the mastermind behind all of this. Billy agreed because he was still really curious about it.
He looked at Billy with a small, mysterious smile. "That wine makes a nice change once in a while." He then said to him. "But I do have some reserve, if you fancy some?"
Billy's face lit up. "Yes, please." He beamed.
"How do you think last night went?" He asked the assassin after giving him a good amount of it.
Billy leant back after drinking almost half. "Oh fuck, that was... well. It were fuckin' amazin', really. That how it always is?"
"Pretty much." He replied. "Sometimes even better. But that sort of going-on is why we only team up like that once a week, or once every two. It's very demanding, as you've now seen."
