Chapter 6

Jane's POV

Justin has already been confined in the hospital for three days now. The doctors say that he is stable but I feel like there is something wrong. I dont think that even if the doctors say that he is fine already that everything else would be too.

Ryan visited but he didnt bother to talk to me. I guess despite us being a broken couple,he still treats the friendship he had with Justin as something important.

Im glad that he still has some sense.

Im about to visit him again and take care of him since there are around a month and a half before the 1st semester of 10th grade starts.

I was the only one whom was able to take care of him since Justin's parents are always busy with work though they did come by to check at him. And his sister was still in the abroad ,studying since she is in college.

His friends visit from time to time but they dont know how to take care really so I decided I should do it.

There may be nurses around but I just feel obliged to take care of Justin.

As I opened the door and entered,my eyes widened as I saw a girl in there ,carressing Justin's face.

She heard me and turned around. When I saw her face,I thought I recognized her but I cant pinpoint how I do...

Her eyes widened at the sight of me and I knew then that my instincts of knowing her were true.

I narrowed my eyes at her and said,"Who are you and what are you doing here?"

Like a slap on my face ,she answered,"Why ,sweetheart, Im Cora Anders,Justin's one and only girlfriend and soon to be fiance ." 

I dont know why but I felt my heart shatter into a thousand pieces. I wanted to make her say she was lying but the look on her face tells me how confident she was.

Just then , Justin's hand moved and I gasped. Upon seeing why I had such a reaction, Cora turned around and we both saw Justin open his eyes.

He sat up and said,"J-jane?What happened?" 

I was about to answer when Cora lashed herself at Justin and pressed her mouth onto his.I couldnt bear the sight that I dashed out saying,"Please excuse me."

I heard Justin scream,"Jane , wait it isnt what you-"

But I ignored it and ran as tears started falling down my eyes. Since tears covered my eyes, I couldnt see my way properly .

I felt a hand wrap around me as I was about to run further. I realised it was Justin. 

He looked angry. "What are you doing?" 

I  shoved  him away and said,"I dont care where Im going just not anywhere near you!"

I pushed him away with all the strength I could muster only to be greeted with me falling down the stairs and hearing him scream my name.

I  closed my eyes slowly welcoming death.

I thought he was trying to explain but it turns out,he was trying to save me . Save me from this fall.Save me from my death. 

But here I am ,stubborn as ever.

I sighed and was slowly welcomed by a loud thud and I lost consiousness.

Justin's POV

I never wanted to wake up fromconfinement seeing the girl I love so much look at me with disgusted eyes and letting her see Cora,my ex kiss me.

As she ran out of the door , I ran toher but Cora stopped me . I pushed her away and said,"What the fuck ,Cora?! We were already over , 2years ago!" 

I then ran to Jane as I saw her almost about to run down the stairs.

"What are you doing?" I asked,angrily.

She shoved me away and said,"I dont care where Im going just not anywhere near you!"

She pushed me away and fell down.

"Jane -wait!" 

But I was not able to save her. She fell...I saw her fall..fall helplessly down the stairs.

I ran to her but wasnt able to catch her. I saw the tears down her eyes as she welcomed the fall and the blood that flowed down her face as she was bleeding.

The nurses and doctors attended her with alarm and said that she might have a concussion when she wakes up but toldme that nothing very serious happened. There might be a possibilityof brain damage though.

When her parents heard the news,they came with tears in their eyes. Michael,her brother and Isabelle and Charlotte were at his side,trying to comprehend what happened.

"What happened?" Charlotte asked,tears near her eyes.

"Who did this,Id kill them!"  Isabelle screamed.

Michael tried to keep her from making a fool out of herself and hugged her by the waist as she started to lash herself at the nurse nearest to us.

I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.

"It was an accident ,Isa." I said.

"Accident my face! In every accident there is always someone with a hidden motive!" Isabelle screamed.

I tried to cool her down but it was of no use.

Jane's parents came out of her room and laid a hand by me. "You should go rest. You have just been in an accident too. You three should go home too. Jane wouldnt like it if she sees you like this." Jane's dad told us.

"Come on children!" JAne's mom said,trying her best to look cheerful but failed.

I nodded at her and said,"Thank you ,Mrs.Hawkings.Mr.Hawkings."

"Oh just call us Auntie and Uncle." Jane's dad said.

I nodded and went back tomy room.

Sleeping was hard since Im very much worried about Jane whom is now residing beside my room. 

I decided to take a look at her just to check up on her but was greeted by Ryan whom was kissing Jane .

My eyes widened and I stood there confused. Their kiss ended and Jane said,"Justin? Why are you here? I thought you're still in America? I thought it would be after 1 more year before you'd be coming back?" 

Ryan smirked at me and then it hit me. Jane forgot. She forgot of their break up. Of Ryan's infidelity . Of our kiss. Of everything that happened yesterday. Ryan was off the hook in a clean slate.

And I , was the outsider whom was buried deep in her memory that she always wanted to forget.
