Chapter 4

My hands formed into a fist, I tried to calm myself down but was unable to. My heart kept pounding so fast, it was the only sound I heard and it had me think, my heart would burst out in any second.

Miyazono, dangling her feet back and forth while she sat next to me. An ice cream on her hand was offered to me which I didn't accept, seemingly bewildered, "You seemed too stiff." Said the girl, tilting her head to the side. Her lips formed into a an evil grin,"Hee hee, what's this? Nervous when you're with me?"

Apparently, she was right, I was too nervous. I didn't want to admit it but I feared, feared that there was a price I need to pay if I do something wrong in this world. I did play beyond my limit (before I was cured) and even though it wasn't that obvious, Miyazono had behaved a bit odd. No, it has to be my imagination. After all, it has been a long time ago since I first played in front of her like that. My eyes kept glancing at her and quickly looked away when I got caught.

Annoyed, Miyazono hastily stood, letting the ice cream on her hand melted as she took a step in front of me. She bent down with a frown obviously plastered on her face. My eyes that couldn't stop looking at her, widened. I felt her warm thumbs, brushing against my cheeks. It was.. comfortable but it didn't last long.

"Friend A! Stop dozing off! You're irritating." The blonde said before giving me a good slap on the back.

"Ouch! What was that for?"

"It's your fault for keep ignoring me. And the way you look at me is creepy, creepy. What kind of dirty things are you thinking huh?! So you can stop that or i won't just giving you a slap next time." She pointed at her neck with a thumb and moved it in a straight line and a huffed followed after. "You're dead."

Realizing it, my face flushed red and I could feel the heat rising in me, "W-what?! I didn't look at you like that! And that slap was uncalled for!"

"It was a warning." Miyazono sighed, the ice cream she had on earlier had melted and she glared at me, "Now, that was a waste. You need to buy me a new one." Her hand was pulled out from her pocket, revealing her phone. Her eyes were fixated on its screen for a brief moment before it shifted to meet mine. "Friend A, you can clearly play the piano right?"

I flinched, a sweat dropped from my head while I gave her a slow nod. I guess I can't lie now that she have seen my ability to play them clearly.

Miyazono wasn't surprised or anything. Again, she gave me that relieved look. Her smile didn't fade. I was curious. Eager to know the meaning behind her expressions. What were she smiling about? Why? She might and might not have liked me at this moment. She might've developed her feelings later but I needed to know. Why is She attracted to me? Why did she want to help me? Why did she.. fall in love with me?

"There you go, in your own thoughts again. If I could, I would want to be in them and smash it so that you can see me in front of you!" She put both of her fists together, "I wonder what will happen if you can only see me then? Urgh, that would be.." Shaking her head, she put off the topic, "It's late now I should go home."

"Hmm, alright." I said, lowering my head.

I was hoping for her to leave first. I didn't want her to stay longer or I would be giving her many questions that has been playing on my mind ever since. Just leave already.

However, Miyazono stayed. She stood there as if she was waiting for something. "You realized how funny you look like right now, right?"

"Huh?"

"What is it? You look like you want to know something but of course, every questions come with a price!" A smirk made its way to her face. She had found it fun teasing me. "How about.. double the ice cream you were going to compensate me? Deal?"

Why does things come with price? Can't it be free for once? "Fine."

"Hehe. So? What's your question? I hope it's not too long because then, you'll have to triple the ice cream."

Damn this girl and her sweets. It took me a few seconds before I was able to relaxed and calmed my mind. I've decided to ask. And i hope it will not cross the line.

"Miyazono-san, why.. do you lie?"

"L-lie? Lying about what?"

"About him."

Her smile suddenly fade, "I-i don't know what you're talking about." Her eyes lowered to the ground.

"Your feelings to Watari."
