"I don't believe in destiny.I always thought it was nothing more than an overlap of coincidences. But if a meeting changes from chance to inevitable, that's what we would call destiny"

Chapter 6

Miyagi sighed as he looked down at his leaf green plate. For the third morning in a row now Shinobu had cooked nothing but cabbage stir fry and he was about at his limit. He took his fork in his hand, stabbing at the green vegetable as it crunched beneath him. A thin layer ofoil dribbled off it at he brought it to his quivering mouth, hesitating to open it before his jaw slowly dropped and consumed the slimy substance. He swallowed hard, unable to even chew it, slamming his fork down onto the table stunning Shinobu as he jumped in his seat.

Shinobu: “What’s wrong? Is my seasoning off?”

Miyagi had no intentions of hurting Shinobu’s feelings, but at that moment his head was in another world as he cringed, still able to feel the substance slowly slide down the back of his throat. He reached for his glass of water, chugging down the whole contents of the glass before gasping for air and wiping the drops of water from his chin.

Miyagi: “It’s not the seasoning, it’s everything! The texture, the flavour, the cabbage itself! I didn’t think I could ever hate a vegetable but you’ve proven me wrong.”

Shinobu glared at Miyagi, jumping up from his chair and grabbing his plate.

Shinobu: “FINE! Don’t eat it then! I won’t cook for you anymore!”

Miyagi slapped his hand over his forehead realising he had said something hurtful in the heat of the moment.

Miyagi: “Wait, Shinobu. I’m sorry.”

Shinobu marched off into the kitchen, scrapping the contents of the plate into the rubbish bin as Miyagi turned the corner following after him.

Miyagi: “Don’t waste food!”

Shinobu ignored Miyagi, continuing to clear the plate as the cabbage slid off into the bin leaving an oily trail behind. Miyagi grabbed Shinobu’s hand just as Shinobu began to turn away towards the sink.

Miyagi: “I’m sorry!”

Shinobu: “It’s not my fault I don’t know how to cook.”

Miyagi: “Huh?”

Shinobu looked back around at Miyagi with a bright red face yelling as he looked up at him.

Shinobu: “I just want to cook my lover something he’ll enjoy, but no one ever taught me to cook! I’ve been trying to improve but am getting no where.”

A surprised expression swept across Miyagi’s face as his eyes grew wider. Shinobu flicked his head to the side, looking down at the floor attempting to hide his scarlet cheeks. His grip loosened around Shinobu’s hand, sighing as he ruffled the boys honeycomb infused hair.

Miyagi: “I’ll teach you.”

Shinobu looked up at Miyagi, his eyes glistening as his cheeks continued to glow.

Miyagi: Crap, he looks really adorable right now!

“I’ll teach you how to cook.”

Shinobu’s mouth curled as a smile swept across his face. He nodded enthusiastically, rushing to the sink and dumping the cabbage free plate into it. Miyagi turned around, breathing deeply trying to calm himself down from the urge to embrace Shinobu and sweep him off his feet.
