Chapter 3: The Meeting.
When we pulled into the driveway the first thing I noticed was how small it looked. How do they fit 7, now 8, people in there? It must have been one of those houses that only looked small on the outside but was really big on the inside. Oh well. Looks like I'll be finding out soon.
The house was adorable. It was white with sky blue trim and a white wrap around porch. The garage was huge. One of the doors were open and you could see a red, old, rusty truck and a black jeep. Okay if the boys I saw in that picture drove those cars then thats hot.
What suprised me was not the adorable litlle house or how hot it is if the boys drive those cars. What suprised me the most was the huge amount of land it sat on. There was a giant field that you could see horses, cow, and 2 little boys. There was a chicken coop looking thing and you could just see part of what I thought was the barn. It was awed by the sight but also slighly uneasy. I wasn't good with animals. Or dirt. Which if im going to be staying here I will be living closely with it.
I stepped out of the black SUV. I was suprised to find out that it was hot. I though we were in Minnesota. Wasn't it suppose to be cold or something?
The second I stepped out of the SUV the two little kids came plowing at me.
"Who are you?" Wyatt, I expected, asked with wide eyes.
"Oooh, Your pretty!" Wade, the one with glasses, said in an overly chirpy voice. I blushed.
"Boys, this is Skylar Evens. I'll explain everything when we get inside with the other boys." Kelly said sweetly. The look in her eyes were all sparkly and young looking at the two little boys.
When we walked inside the first thing I noticed was the spirl staircase. I always wanted one of those, but Dad always said 'No, we have an elevator. Why would we need stairs?'
Jack led us to the living room where 3 very attractive boys sat. Much to my liking they were shirtless and in jeans. Hawt is all I have to say.
They all looked up as we walked in. The blonde had this cooky look in his blue eyes that said ' I could get in your pants on the first date.' Drew.
The one with brown hair and blue eyes looked at me with question and wonder. Weird why was he looking at me with wonder... I figured this was Nate. The paint all over his jeans gave it away. His mom did say he loves art.
The last was looking at me with excitement and energy. He looked like he was always hyper and energetic. Last but not least Dylan.
"Well hello there." Drew said with seductive glint in his blue eyes.
"Umm... H-hi." Okay so I'm nervous. Im going to be living with these people.
"Who are you?" Dylan asked without hesitation.
"Boys, this is Skylar Evans. Her parents just tragically died. Her mom was my best friend . She will be living with us from now on. You will treat her like family. Is that clear?" Kelly annoces.
There is a chorus of yes moms.
"Good. Now Nate help Skylar bring her stuff upstairs. She will be staying in the room across from your bedroom. There are more bags in the car. Dylan go get those. And Drew..." she hesitates, she shakes her head. " Drew just stay out of their way."
That doesn't seem very fair to me.
"But mom" He drages out the word mom. "I wanna help!"
"No. Now go to your room."
His shoulders hunch and he walks away sulking.
Nate comes over and grabs one of my bags I carried in the house with me.
"Come with me. I'll show you to your room."
I follow him upstairs and down a hallway. We take a left at the end and stop 3 doors down on the right. He kicks open the door.
"This is your room. Hope you like it. I painted the walls myself."
I step in after him and gasp. The walls aren't painted like a normal room would be painted like. There was a different mural on each of the 4 walls. One wall was painted as a lake with a little island in the middle with a tree fort. Another wall had a rain forest with an array of different tropical birds. The next was a waterfall with 3 boys jumping off and into the water.
"That's my favorite flower." I whispered.
"Huh?" Nate asks in confusion.
I point to the last wall. It has a little girl sitting in the midde of a feild of flowers. She has a single white peony in her hands. Her nose tilted slightly smelling the amazing flower.
"Oh really? Well good thing this is your room now huh? Mom would probably be pissed if you didn't like it." And so would he... That was implied.
"Well I love the whole room. It's beautiful." I then notice the furniture in the room. There's a bed with delicately carved flowers and vines intertwined together on dark cherry wood. Matching desk, vanity, and night stands. There were 2 doors other than the one we were standing by. The closet and bathroom I presume. Wow, this house was bigger than I thought
I walk in set my bag on my bed. I walk to the first door and open it. It's a walk in closet. As I'm walking over to the other door Dylan walks in panting. He is carring 3 of my bags. He was obviously out of breathe. I could have told him not to carry 3 bags.
"Holy crap! What do you have in these bags."
"My whole lifes possessions?" I offer.
"Ohh. Well..." He looks away, uncomfortable. Probably because he just brought up my parents death without meaning to.
"Stop. Don't be awkward. I may not be over my parents death but I sure the hell's not going to cry over them every time they're brought up."
Dylan looks relieved.
"Okay. Well where do you want these." He looks pointedly at the bags in his hands.
"Just set them by the bed." I say while opening the other door. I knew it! It's my own bathroom. Good. For a second I thought I'd have to share with everyone else.
