Chapter 1: It's Important

I woke up around 9, realising I'm late for work, damn it, better get myself ready, Callahan & Powell must have called but I must have not heard the phone, god knows it's been a crazy week, but finally it's the weekend.. Maybe I'll take off early & spend some time with El.. Ugh she must have missed her friends so badly, I'll let her hang out with them..
Making plans in my head while getting ready, then quickly I grabbed my hat and left to the office..

I woke up early, got ready to go out for a walk when Dustin called, Jesus! it's the weekend what can he possibly need?.. Oh he needs a ride, said his bike was "temporarily out of order" ,it's cold outside but sunny so I decided I'd do that for him, kid's really cool, and clever, so are his friends, I've really grown fond of them.. And I thought maybe I'll pass by Nancy's and check up on her, I really miss her.. & after all that happened I just wanna give her space but well.. I just wanna see if she's okay or if there's anything I can do for her. I think I was a shitty boyfriend but maybe I can still be a good friend to her after all..
[Steve meets Dustin in the street]
D: Man what took you so long? Fixing your awesome hair, isn't it?
S: it's THE WEEKEND for god's sake!Can't you just.. walk to you friends' or something ?
D: it's long distance..
S: ...
D: ...
S: ... Okay! *sighs* Okay dude just get in the car alright? ..

So to where ? Wheeler's? .. You didn't want to tell me on the phone, what's the matter?
D: *looking right into Steve's eyes* to Max's
S: what? .. And you chose me to take you there and meet her douchebag step brother? Cool man! That's really cool..
D: just calm down Steve okay, it's important, the guys will meet us there too and.. And you need to stay with us for a bit.. Billy actually.. *stutters* Billy actually wanna talk to you.
S: WHAT? *stops car immediately* hey if this is some kinda plan you and your shitheads friends have made I swear to go..
*Dustin cuts him off* hey hey! Just CALM IT okay? It's super important Steve, you understand me? It's important and it's not a joke, and Billy is not gonna fight you again, alright? ...
ALRIGHT? ..
S: *closes eyes & sighs* alright.
[Steve & Dustin drove off to Max's] ...
