Jim Hawkins P.O.V.
Do penguins have knees? I mean, you can't see them, and in movies and things they don't seem to use them. But how do they move? They have to have bones. Or else they couldn't move.
"James Hawkins, would you do us the pleasure to listen to the lesson? Or at least, pretend? So as I was saying, from 1939 'till 1945-" The one who dared stop the great professor Merlin from his great history lesson (sarcasm, sarcasm everywhere) was Mickey Mouse, speaking through the speaker. "Hiya there, folks! How are all fellows of Walter Disney High doing? Anyway, we're going to have an assembly now. So if you'd pack up your things and be at the auditorium in fifteen minutes, it'd be great. See ya soon!" I've always liked Mickey Mouse. Instead of the principal, I think he should be part of one of those TV shows, like The Ellen Show or something. "Now now, don't think that I'm going to make you leave without homework." The professor chuckled. The whole class groaned, including me. As soon as he assigned the homework, I sprinted out of class. I headed to the vending machines to buy some pretzels. Yes, I have an obsession with pretzels. Like Vi has got one with chips, I don't see anything weird in having pretzels like my all time favorite food. As soon as I got there, I saw Wilbur. "Hey, Wil." I greeted, taking out some change for my pocket. He looked up from his phone and smiled. "Hey Jim. Need some help?" He asked, probably noticing me struggling while counting my coins. "Yeah, actually. Have you got 20 cents?" I asked, a nervous look on my face. "Sure." He said, pulling the coin from his pocket and handing it to me. "Thanks. And by the way, do you know where's Hiro? I've got to talk with him about our carpentry project." I asked, opening my bag of pretzels. "Yes, actually. We were in physics class together. He wanted to stop and talk with Mr. Doppler about a project he's proposing or something. Knowing him, he still might be rambling his amazingly geniusly cool project, or whatever he calls it." Wilbur chuckled. "Thanks. Wanna come with us to the auditorium?" I proposed, feeling bad for leaving him alone. "I'm waiting for Vi. She's meeting me here, since she's got a talk with Mr. Hatter to discuss now. But thanks." I smiled. "Well, tell her I said hi." I smiled, running towards the physics class. Before I could even reach the next class, I stopped and turned around. "Hey, Wil?" I asked. "Yeah?" He asked, taking a step closer to me. I raised my eyebrows and tilted my head a bit. He received my message, shaking his head and massaging his temples. "Dude, it's difficult. Are you sure I should invite Vi to the school dance? I mean, we could go there like friends like every other... sorry. I-I'll try and invite her tomorrow, I guess." He said, chuckling nervously. "You better, idiot!" I yelled, running through the halls. I know, I know. Why do I talk with these nerds, since I'm so popular. Well, let's just say I'm kind of a nerd myself. I love building and creating things. Other than music, it's my favorite hobby. This little group of ours is composed by me, Wilbur, Hiro, Vi, and sometimes Wendy and Alice. Once, also Tinker Bell was part of the group, but she... changed. She's very mean, and always makes fun of Hiro, Wil and Vi, and especially Wendy, since she's Peters girlfriend. Well, not yet at least. And, surprise surprise, we're all together in carpentry class (except Tink obviously. She choose to not participate in this class). We usually work on our projects individually, but work in a group to help each other out. But for this project, Mr. Gepetto decided we had to work exclusively in pairs. Since we had to build a birdhouse, and it had to be detailed, I've come up with a new idea: a futuristic bird house. I was pretty excited about this one. By now, I've picked Hiro up and we were heading towards the auditorium. I proposed him my idea. He seemed to like it. Correction. Love it. We talked about it for a while sitting on the velvet red chairs until the lights in the auditorium went off. Mickey Mouse stepped into the stage, starting his announcement with his usual squeaky voice, and saying "Hiya guys!" As always. Me and Hiro were playing on our phones when he brought his head up, to elbow me a couple of seconds later. "This might be interesting dude, pay attention." I did as he ordered. Mickey sighed deeply to then grin, probably out of breath. "So, the reason we are all reunited here today, is because we're going on a holiday this Christmas all together in Rome!" I suppose he didn't finish, because he had a sort of surprised face when everyone started cheering. Clapping hands, whistles, and exultations were all you could hear. After some time, the cheers stopped, and Mickey continued his speech. "The forms have been already send to your parents, and we'll have your teachers talk about it in your next class. Now, sophomores, go to to the football yard, while everyone else can return to their classes." Mickey announced. Ten minutes later, I found myself sitting next to Hiro on the football field waiting for the rest of the sophomore class to arrive. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Hey Jim, Hiro. Mind if we sit here?" Asked Wendy, Alice by her side. "Sure. Look who's here, Alice in Wonderland!" I said, laughing at the memory: for some time, Alice would always tell us her adventures in an imaginary place called Wonderland. They were pretty much absurd. "Hey, Jimbo." Alice exclaimed, plopping on the ground. "Do you know why are we all here?" Hiro asked, repeating the question he asked me before. Alice shook her head, while Wendy nodded. "Do you know Anna, the girl with particular strawberry blonde hair? She's the sister of one of my roommate's friends and she's class president. Anyway, according to her, there are two new students and-" I'll never know what Wendy wanted to say next, because Ms. Poppins entered our group sitting on the ground next to us. She was awesome, yet very weird. She was the strictest teacher in the world, and at the same time, the awesomest. She took a large basket out of her purse and started passing sandwiches to everyone. I mean, a teacher who gives students free sandwiches. How cool is that?
Meanwhile, I looked into her purse. Nothing. Then I put my hand in there and moved it inside the small purse, trying to feel something. Still nothing. As I pulled my hand out of the purse, Mary Poppins turned around her head fastly and flashed me a smirk. "Don't you know that looking into other people's bags is rude, Hawkins?" She then pulled out another basket out of her bag, which was even smaller than the other one, and handed me the first sandwich. "Thanks..." I said, doubting about the sandwich. "Hey Poppins, mind if I join?" I was so concentrated on my magical sandwich, I didn't even notice Bert, the school janitor, coming towards us. "Shouldn't you be working?" Asked Ms. Poppins, continuing the sandwich delivery. "I've got a break in five minutes, so I think I could." He said, plopping on the ground and serving himself a sandwich. "Ms. Poppins, I heard that two new students are going to... uh... join us. Are we going to meet them anytime soon or...?" Hiro trailed off. Around friends, he would never stop talking. He's always rambling about anything. But with adults, he's an ice block. "Yes, Mr. Hamada. I almost forgot. Jim, would you do me the pleasure to pick them up? They should be in the school living room." Ms. Poppins asked looking towards me. "Sure, why not." I said, standing up and running towards the school building. I expected to find them in the school living room like Ms. Poppins said, but they were in the hall, which was way closer. "Hey, you're the new kids, right?" I said nervously. If they weren't them, but actually students that I just never noticed, I'd hate myself. And everyone else would hate me too. Luckily, one of the kids, who was a girl, let out a sigh of relief. She had short blonde hair and blue eyes. "Yeah, actually. Hi, I'm Riley Anderson, while he's my brother. Hog?" She turned his head towards a guy, who was playing with his phone. It looked like the game I was playing with Hiro in the auditorium. He had brown hair and blue eyes. He swiftly turned his head towards his sister, than to me. "Uh, yeah, hi, I'm Hogarth Hughes. And you are...?" He trailed off, looking at me suspiciously, then letting out a goofy grin. "I-I'm Jim Hawkins. The English teacher send me here to pick you guys up. So, uh, lets go, I guess." We were walking towards the field until a doubt came into my mind. "Um, not to get personal or anything, but I noticed you guys have different surnames." I said. "Well, our parents got separated some time before our birth, so I went with our dad and he went with our mom, who decided to change his surname into hers. But, we get along pretty well. Don't we, Hog?" Riley asked, referring her question to her brother, who was playing soccer with a plastic bottle found on the ground. He was pretty immature for his age, and reminded me of Peter. I liked him. "Kinda-sorta." He answered. I didn't know what to say next, so I remained silent. Apparently, they were in my same situation. "Ugh, I can make you meet my friends if you want..." I trailed off, breaking the silence. "That'd be awesome! What do you and your friends like to do in the free time?" You could say Riley was pretty relieved that I broke the silence. Hug chuckled a bit, receiving a glare from Riley. "Ugh, well, it depends. We like to go to the arcade, but most of the time we just hang out..." I paused. Where do we hang out? We don't have "a place", we just text were to meet and that's quite it. "Anywhere. We don't really have a special place." I shrugged. "What my sister wanted to ask, actually, is probably what do you and your friends INDIVIDUALLY like to do in your free time." Chuckled Hug, receiving his sisters elbow in his side. He mouthed an "ow" and Riley smirked at him. "Oh, well uh, we're all kind of different. The most of us like to build or fix things. Kind of nerdy, I know." I chuckled. "Then there's Wendy, who's always ok with everything I guess. And her best friend Alice. Alice will just sit and judge us, telling us how nerdy we are, while reading a comic." I laughed. "Makes sense." Riley laughed along with me. "What comics does she read?" Asked Hogarth, sounding serious.

Hey there, people of Wattpad! How ya doin'? In case anyone was wondering, Rileys from Inside Out and Hogarths from The Iron Giant. Why make them brother and sister? I don't know. I really wanted to put Hogarth in (he's my favorite animated non/Disney character so yeah) and I wanted twins in this story (I don't know why part 2). I guess they kinda look alike.
