Sofia walked to school as the sunlit clouds drifted across the clear blue sky. The fresh air filled her lungs and she felt refreshed and exhilarated, but she something was bothering her. She felt like someone or something was watching her. She often scanned her surrounding to see if anyone was watching her. She started to walk faster, worried something would happen to her.
As she was walking she suddenly caught a glimpse of light coming from the woods. She made a sudden stop, her heart beating faster and faster. She wanted to run, anywhere as long as she's safe, but a part of her was filled with curiosity. She turned to see where the light came from. Her eyes widen as she saw a little blue light blinking somewhere deep in the woods.
'Should I check it out?' She wondered. 'What if I'm late for school?'
'I guess it's okay to be late once right?'she thought.
She walked towards the light, holding her Math textbook as a weapon in case something happens. She got closer and closer to the woods, her eyes locked at the blinking light, her heart pounding like it was almost about to beat right out of her chest."SOFIA!"
Sofia jumped out of fear and started to swing her textbook uncontrollably. Her eyes were sealed shut and she screamed her lungs out.
"SOFIA! SOFIA! IT'S ME! MIA!"
The minute Sofia heard Mia's name she stopped. She opened her eyes to see her best friend standing before her eyes.
"Oh my god! Mia! I'm so sorry, are you hurt? Did I hit you? Is that a scar?" I did that didn't I?" Sofia started to search Mia making sure she's okay.
"Sofia...Sofia..." Mia tried to make Sofia stop.
"I'm fine, I'm fine, it's you I'm worried about. Are you okay?" You look like you just saw a ghost," Mia said looking worried.
"I... what? Uh...no... it's, its nothing," she said looking uncomfortable.
"Are you sure? You know you can tell me anything,"
"Yes, really it's nothing, I just overreacted,"
Mia looked at Sofia closely for a minute.
"Friends don't keep secrets between each other," Mia stated.
Sofia looked down, feeling guilty.
"I saw something in the woods, some sorta light," she gulped
"Its like... its, calling me. I know that sounds crazy but...."
"No, it's not. If you think there's something out there, then there is," Mia cut her off.
"Sofia, you should always trust your instincts, because if you don't, that means you don't trust yourself."
Sofia smiled.
"Thanks."
"Hey, what are best friends for?" She chuckled.
"Well come on, we don't want to be late for school now do we," she said putting her hand over Sofia's shoulder as they continued their walk to school.
