The bell which indicates the end of lunch rang, Sofia started to head to her locker when she saw Eddie on his way to class. She started to jog a little, and called out his name to catch up with him. Eddie turned and flashed a smile as he saw Sofia.

"Sofia, is everything okay,"

"Never better," she smiled.

"I was just wondering if you would like to go to the library with me after school today? You can tell me all about the other dimensions or whatever you're interested in," Sofia asked.

Eddie blinked and he took a moment to process the question into his head.

"Today?"

"Yeah, it's okay if you're not free,"

"NO!" Eddie blurted which drew a bit of attention.

"I mean, no, I'm free.... and I'll come," he looked down at the floor.

"Great! see you at the library then," Sofia said sounding excited and turned to walk to class.

"Smooth." He muttered under his breath.

"So, a date huh?"

Eddie turned to see a smirk on Alex's face.

"Dude! You gotta stop doing that!"

"Want me to run to the store and get some flowers?"

"No! we're just studying,"

"That's what they always say," Alex lifted an eyebrow.

"You know what, I don't have time for this, I have class to go to,"

"We're going to talk about this sooner or later!" Alex yelled as Eddie rushed to class.

After school ended, Eddie walked into the library to see Sofia already having her head in a book. Eddie crept behind Sofia holding his breath to make no sign of his presence. He reached out his hand, and as he was just about to place them on her shoulders, she turned.

"Eddie!"

Eddie got startled and stumbled to the ground.

"Oh my god! what is wrong with me today?" Sofia cried.

She kneeled down and took Eddie by the arm and pulled him up.

"I'm sorry,"

"No, I'm the one who's sorry, I wanted to scare you but," he smiled, "you scared me instead," he started rubbing the back of his neck.

Sofia giggled, "Karma,"

They picked out a book and started to read, Sofia read a book about human anatomy, while Eddie continued to read his book 'ARE WE ALONE OUT THERE'.

Eddie put down his book and asked,

"Have you heard about.... Emily Gray?"

Sofia put down her book and faced Eddie.

"Yeah, I have," she said feeling sorry for the poor girl.

"Weird huh, one day she's just there and the next she's gone. I wonder how her parents would be feeling?"

"I don't think she killed herself," she stared deep into Eddie's eyes.

"I believe she's out there, somewhere....hiding." She whispered under her breath.

Sweat trickled down Eddie's forehead. He looked down at his book.

"Maybe she got sucked into a portal," Eddie joked, "that'll be so cool."

"Portal," Sofia mumbled under her breath, looking down at the table trying to figure something out.

"No, I was just joking,"

"A portal!" Sofia looked up as if she got something.

"Is everything okay?" Eddie looked confused.

"Eddie, is there like... a sign to know where the portal is? Or does it come in a form of something? Like a light maybe?"

"Uh...what's going on?"

"Eddie please answer the question."

"Uh, yes, a portal comes in a form of a light, a..."

"Blue light." They both said at ones.

"Do you know something I don't?"

"Is there a specific place where these portals would appear?"

"Um, they usually appear at places where people won't approach, a place which is hidden....like the woods."

Sofia grabbed her jacket and got up, "Eddie thank you so much but I have to leave."

"Where are you going?"

She walked out of the library in a hurry.

"To the woods!"
