So, I'm hanging out with Wayne at the park because, I have to. I love being around him so, I guess it's not, a have to thing but still.
"We're going to this dance tonight, ok?" He asked as we sat there swinging. He was nicer when it was only us.
"Ok, I'll wear a pretty dress." I smiled.
"Ok, I got to go but I'll meet you back here and my friend will pick us up." He said walking away. I got up and called my sister to pick me up.
I got home and took a shower. Then I put on a simple blue dress that came to me knees. I threw my hair up in a pretty bun. I applied a little makeup. Slipped on a pair of blue flip flops and I was ready. I headed to the park.
"Hey, they'll be here in three minutes." Wayne said walkng to me.
"Ok." I said taking a seat on the bench.
"You look nice." He complimented, looking at me.
"Thanks." I blushed and looked down. Then, a truck pulled up.
"Hop in." The dude in the driver's seat said through the window. We both hopped into the back seat. We drove for a while and finally got to the dance. I went inside and heard the awesome music. They were playing a rap song as we walked in.
"Want to dance?" A girl who was wearing shorts that practically showed her butt and a tube top, asked Wayne.
"Sure." he followed her to the dance floor. She was grinding up against him and he was getting into it. I realized who she was, the girl he was trying to get. I stood there for four songs straight and then they kissed. It wasn't even just a french kiss, it was a hands touching body, turn on, kind of kiss. I ran to the back porch. I thought maybe he would finally stop liking her but it didn't look like it. I was alone on the back porch so, I let out one little sob.
"Are you ok?" I heard a dude's voice say behind me.
"Yeah, I guess." I barely got it out clearly. He came to sit by me. He was pretty cute, kind of muscular like he just started working out, bright blue eyes, and curly brown hair. I'm an absolute sucker for curly hair.
"You can tell me, if it makes you feel better." He gave me a beautiful smile.
"Well, the guy I thought I liked and thought he might like me back, was dancing with another girl. They danced or should I say, she grinded on him for four songs straight. Then, they kissed. I mean, the kind of kiss you have before you start doing it. That's when I came out here." I spilled before I could even think about it.
"Oh, yeah, I seen that. If he'd rather dance with a whore instead of you, that's his lost." He looked into my eyes.
"You really think that?" I shyly peeked at him.
"Yeah, I do. So, stop crying and go for a guy who isn't insane." He said kindly, smiling at me. I wiped my eyes and looked at him.
"So, what's your name?" I asked, he looked familiar but, I don't know.
"Brandon, your's?" I don't think he stops smiling.
"Laney. Do you go to my school?"
"Well, technically you go to my school." He gave a little chuckle.
"How?"
"I'm older than you."
"How old are you and what grade are you in?" I didn't believe he was that much older.
"I'm 15 and I'm in 9th grade. What about you?" He smirked.
"I'm 13 and in 7th grade." I whispered in a defeated tone.
"Told you." He laughed.
"Shut up." I play smacked him.
"You want to go dance?" He asked getting up.
"Sure." He gave me hand up. We walked back into the house. When we got in there a country song was playing. We went to the middle and two-stepped. He was pretty good. Plus, he was the perfect hieght, I came up to his chin. They played like five country songs in a row and we danced to every one of them. This was turning out to be a really good night. When a rap song came on we went to sit down along the wall. Then, we started talking about ourselves. We talked for hours. He made me laugh and smile.
"Hey, I'm sorry but, I got to go. My friends driving me home and he said we're leaving." He loked apologetic.
"It's ok. Can I have your number?" I asked looking sideways at him.
"Sure." He found a sharpie on the floor and wrote his number on my hand. I smiled.
"Can I have your's?" He smiled.
"Sure." I wrote my number on his hand.
"I'll text you. Bye, Laney." He bent down and kissed my cheek. I blushed.
"Bye, Brandon." I said as he walked away. I sat there thinking about what just happened. Brandon was amazing, always smiling and laughing, we have alot of things in comon, and he made me feel good. I was actually full out happy tonight for the first time in a long time.
"Yo, Laney, we're leaving." I heard Wayne yell. I walked over to him. We walked to his friends' truck. I climbed in first.
"What's that on your hand?" He said, eyeing my hand.
"A number." I smiled.
"Who's number?"
"A guy's. Why you want to know?" I asked, really wanting to hear this answer.
"Just wondering." He was in the truck and looking out the window.
"Whatever." I smiled and pulled out my phone to put in his number. We finally drove away and his friend was nice enough to drive me all the way home.
When I got home I layed on my bed and thought about Brandon. I finally drifted off to sleep.
