"Maddie we’re out of tea bags" Nathan said in a panick barging in to my bedroom.
"Nathan, don’t you ever knock?" I laughed, thankfully I was dressed.
"I was trying to catch you off gaurd" he winked at me as he perched himself down on my bed.
"We could...go to a cafe?" I said nervously, it was sounding more and more like a date. Plus the fact I wanted to change the subject after his wink, christ on a bike he was beautiful.
"It's 8 o'clock, the good ones will be shut" he said fixing his hat as he thought.
"McDonalds?" I suggested, reaching down to put my high tops on. I heard him laugh and it took me by suprise.
"Claaaaasy" he said in his strong accent.
"I'm easily pleased" I said grabbing a jacket that was slung over my desk.
"I'll drive us though, it's a bit cold outside" he said dangling his car keys in my face.
"You can drive?" I said shocked, I knew he was old enough but he still looked young to be behind the wheel of a car.
"Well I'm still learning" he smiled sheepishly as we headed down the hallway.
"When's your test?" I questioned, not to tease him, for some reason I was genuinely interested.
"Not telling you, I'm not telling any of the lads" he laughed, that was probably the wisest choice, they'd never let him hear the end of it if he failed.
"Stupid piece of shit" Nathan moaned as he tried to park up for the tenth time in McDonalds carpark.
"Just reverse back, and try again" I said encouraging him to keep calm.
"I cant do it, will you park it for me?" he said in defeat.
"Yeah if you want me to" I smiled as we swapped seats. I parked the car between the lines, applied the handbreake, turned the keys and handed them back to him.
"Thanks, that was embarrassing" he muttered from under his fringe.
"You get used to it, and besides now I'm living with you I can always take you driving" I offered, his embarrasment was so cute.
"Yeah, please, thanks, I'd like that" he stuttered, for the first time it wasn't just me being socially awkward.
"Favourite thing on a boy?" Nathan fired at me, he was coming to the end of his round of 20 questions and they were getting more personal as they went on.
"Eyes" I instantly replied.
"What colour?"
"Brown" I said automatically.
"Hair colour?"
"Brown" I replied laughing at how fast his questions were getting.
"You do realise you just described Tom" Nathan laughed as he took a sip from his cup of tea.
"Suppose I did" I laughed, finishing the remainder of my chips off.
"First kiss" he asked curiously.
"Tom" I said stupidly, subconsciously I didn't want to tell Nathan, but the point of 20 questions was that you answered anything.
"First time?" Nathan said raising his eyebrows at me in a suggestive manner.
"Tom" I said quietley, I dont even know why I didn't just keep my mouth shut. That was supposed to be private.
"No way, bloody hell Parkers got it all hasn't he" Nathan said throwing his arms up in the air in a dramatic manner.
"Can we change the subject please?" I pleaded with him.
"Yeah sure, but seriously, you and Tom are that close?" Nathan asked smiling to show that he was sorry for making me uncomfortable.
"Yeah, he's my boy" I said truthfully.
"Do your mum and dad like him?" Nathan asked innocently.
"Well actually, it's just my mum" I smiled weakily, he wasn't too know that my dad had walked out on us, but I didn't like talking about that subject.
"Oh sorry, if it helps my dad was a dick too" Nathan said rubbing my hand with his index finger. I flinched automatically at his touch, not because I was scared, but because he had interrupted me from my thoughts about my dad, and because I was embarrassed.
"Come on, lets get back home before all the drunk chavs come in" Nathan laughed holding my jacket up for me as I slid my arms in.
"You know, you actually look rather good behind the wheel" I said complimenting him after his outburst when trying to park earlier.
"Pussay patrol" Nathan said doing his best impression of The Inbetweeners.
"Okay I take that back" I laughed as I climbed into the passenger seat.
We were just pulling into the carpark which belonged to our block of apartments when Miami by Will Smith came on the radio.
"Oh my god, I haven't heard this in years" I said instantly switching it up.
"I'm going to Miami, welcome to Miami" Nathan said imitating the girls seductive voice in the song. We stayed dancing and singing in the car until the song ended, and then we erupted into laughter as we realised how much we had got into that song. We stayed dancing and singing in the car until the song ended, and then we erupted into laughter as we realised how much we had got into that song. We both made our way into the apartment block and I was still humming the tune to the song.
“So, did you enjoy our first date?” Nathan asked as we waited for the lift.
“What?” I laughed unintentionally, I just wasn’t expecting him to ask that, I just thought we were getting to know each other, I hadn’t meant to lead him on.
“Your face, classic!” Nathan held his sides from the laughter
“Dont worry I was just kidding with you” he added as we stepped into the lift.
“Ha!” I laughed vervously “you cant go wrong with McDonalds” I commented to try and change the subject. It was getting pretty late and I didn’t know how long we’d been out, it was a 24 hours McDonalds so I’d lost all track of time.
“Well, I’ll leave you to go and find Tom” Nathan whispered as we entered the apartment, by the looks of it everyone had gone to bed. Seriously, what time was it. I nodded appreciatively and hung my jacket up on the stand.
“Where have you been?” A voice came from the sofa, making me jump, a tiny scream escaped my mouth.
“Fucking hell Tom, I didn’t know you were there” I said placing my hand on my chest to try and control my breathing.
“That’s funny cause I didn’t know were you where either” Tom whispered angrily, I’d completly forgot to tell him.
“I’m sorry, me and Nathan went to McDonalds” I said explaining myself like a naughty toddler does to their parents.
“I dont care if you was with the Queen, I was worried sick, you dont know your way around London” Tom said sighing heavily, it was a sign he was calming down though.
“I’m sorry, I lost track of time” I exclaimed, I was getting fed up of explaining myself, I was an adult for gods sake. A silence fell over the two of us and I could just see Tom’s chest moving up and down slightly from the little bit of light coming from the window.
“I think that was our first “couples” arguement” he laughed at the word couple as he didn’t know what term to use to describe what we had.
“I think it was” I laughed slightly, a wave of relief washing over me as I realised he wasn’t mad with me.
“This will be your first time having make-up sex then” Tom muttered in my ear as he ran his fingers through my hair.
