Chapter 10- Never let go

Ella's pov

After two hours the Mrs. Baker comes out of Bradley's room and waved me over.

"He woke up and wants to see you," she says smiling

"Oh. Okay," I smile

Caleb and Ted walk out as I approach the door. Caleb smiles at me and nods.

I open the door and walk inside to a dim room. I sit down in the chair next to Bradley and look at him.

"Hey," he whispers opening his eyes

"Hi," I smile

"Thank you,"

". For what exactly," I ask

" For... For coming back for me," he smiles, "I would be dead if you didn't. Why did you come back?"

"I wasn't gonna leave you," I say grabbing his hand

"Why not,"

"I don't know. I guess I guess it's because your my friend but I don't know," I sigh

"I-I think you do. But I'm just grateful that you came back," he tightens the grip on my hand

"I-i mean you would've done the same," I say

"Your right. I would've,"

"Well. It's 8:30 and visiting hours are ending so I-I'm gonna go. But I'll see you tomorrow Bradley. Goodnight," I say and get up before waving goodbye.

"Goodnight. Ella, *******," he says mumbling the end

"What," I ask turning back

"Nothing. Goodnight," he says before shutting his eyes.

  I smile before turning to leave the room

3rd person

   Ella visited Bradley every day for the rest of his stay in the hospital. Now, three weeks later, Bradley grabs his bag from the porch and heads to the car.

"Be careful Bradley. You don't want to hurt yourself," Mrs. Baker says placing her hand on his shoulder.

"I'll be okay Mom," Bradley replies smiling

  "That's everything," Caleb says getting into the car

"We have to go. Ella's meeting us at the airport in fifteen minutes," Ted says starting the car.

  The four drive towards the airport, getting ready to say goodbye.

The family places their bags on the belt before entering the airport and going to the security gate.

Bradley's pov

I look towards the security gate and see the blond haired girl I'd learned to like...again. I walk towards her quietly trying to hug her from behind.

"Hello," I say in a creepy voice as I hug her

She squeals before turning around and looking at me.

"Bradley," she smiles and hugs me, "I'm gonna miss you so much!"

"What about me," Caleb asks poking her side

"I'll miss you too buddy. What will I do without my partner in crime," she asks hugging him

"Oh no. Who's gonna help me spray Bradley's shaving cream off the room pretending it's snowing in summer," Caleb asks making me glare at the two

"It was you who was wasting my shaving cream," I ask

"Maaayyyybbeee," Ella sings

"Whatever. Your lucky I like you," I say quickly pausing

"Yeah, yeah whatever," she mocks

"Hey. We're gonna go ahead and get in line. Come on Brad. Goodbye Elizabeth. We will miss you very much," Mom says.

"Bye Ella," Caleb says bear hugging her, "I'll really miss you!"

He runs off and I look at her.

"Hey. I-Um. Don't let go to what happened to us okay," Ella says

"How could I? I have a wound to remind me," I joke

She smiles sadly and looks down

"Don't forget about me okay. And come visit,"

"How could I forget,"

"You tend to forget a lot Brad,"

"Not when it's something really important to me," I say before mumbling, "or someone."

"I don't want to say goodbye. But. I guess this is goodbye,"

"No. It's just an 'I'll be back' moment,"

"Okay then. Be back soon," she says before turning and walking away.

I smile sadly at her as she trails towards the exit when something dawns on me. I have to do it.

"ELLA WAIT," I yell

She stops and turns around as I run up to her. I grab her face and look her in the eyes

"I can't let let you leave. Not yet. Not till I something," I mumble

"Till you do wh-," she starts

I lean forward and kiss her.

I did it. I finally did it. I kissed her, I really did. And the best part was.

She kissed back.

Ella's pov

We pull away and I open my eyes. I don't what to do. I mean I kissed back. I felt something; tingly and warm.

"Now I can say it. Goodbye Ella," he says and smiles before walking away

"HEY BRADLEY," I yell, "Never Let Go of that." I smile before walking away

As I reach my Moms car I whisper, "see you soon Bradley Baker."
