Trigger warning - homophobic slurs

The next day, Eddie begged his mom to let him stay home.
"No Eddie, you need education. Now go, you're going to be late!" She spoke harshly.
Eddie's shoulders slumped in defeat as he trudged towards the bus stop with his head low.
"Look! it's the queer!" Henry Bowers shouted.
Richie stood next to him laughing and giving him and his gang high fives.
Eddie felt tears welt up in his eyes.
"Don't show them you're weak, Eddie." He told himself.
Eddie ignored their rude comments and found a seat on the bus, next to Bill.
"I-I'm sorry E-Eddie, b-but I c-can't be seen w-with y-y-you." Bill whispered.
"What?" Eddie felt a wave of sadness pass over him.
"It's just, w-w-with my s-stutter, it's h-hard enough." Bill patted his back. "I'm s-sorry E-Eddie."

---

Eddie got to class before anyone, including the teacher, and he was relived that Henry and his gang (plus Richie) weren't there yet. Taking a deep breath, he found a seat in the back farthest away from Henry's seat as possible.
"He won't see me.. right?" Eddie thought to himself.
he thought wrong.

Henry walked through the door with a bang,
followed by his other goons and Richie.
Henry approached him, and punched him in the face, before picking him up by his shirt and spitting in his face. "You aren't welcome here, you faggot!" He spat as he dropped Eddie onto the ground. Eddie began frantically searching for his inhaler. "Where is it?" He thought to himself. "I need it!"
"Are you looking for this?" He heard a voice snicker. It was Henry. He threw it on the ground and stomped on it, before whispering "You don't deserve to breathe." Henry laughed and looked at his friends for support.
"Henry, you dumb ass! he's literally going to die!" Screamed Richie, cradling Eddie in his arms, "In-nhal-ler" Eddie croaked, and then everything went black.
