mona's pov

after the text i sent to dacre, we hadn't spoken the rest of our short break. i arrived in the trailer at the usual time, deciding to nap until everyone started to trickle in. i placed myself on the small bench toward the back of the trailer, pulling the blanket i brought with me over my head to cancel out the lights in the room. it wasn't long before i heard the door open, figuring it was just sandy or someone to let us know what we were doing for everyone today. instead i felt someone shaking me a bit, groaning and taking the blanket off from over my eyes, turning to see who was so adamant on me being awake.

what i didn't expect was to see dacre in front of me, seeming too chipper for it to be this early in the morning.

"rise and shine hon, you've got a lot to do today." he spoke with a half smile, patting my side and stepping back so i could get up.

i reluctantly sat up, wiping my eyes and checking my phone for the time. "dacre what the hell, you're not even supposed to be here for another half hour." i was still half asleep, rubbing my eyes.

"i know, but i couldn't go back to sleep and i thought, might as well just come to set early. and i know that you said you wanted to hang out outside of work but here we are, hanging out at work with no one else here. not exactly what you asked for but the second best thing." he shrugged, holding his hand out for me to take.

i grabbed it, pulling myself up to my feet. feeling a bit awkward, i folding my arms over my chest and looked back at sandy who wasn't paying attention to anything happening, mindlessly scrolling through twitter on her phone. i turned back to him, nodding softly.

"so what are we gonna do? just hang out in here until everyone else gets here or.." i trailed off, not really knowing what any other option was.

he shook his head, the smiled still tugging on his lips. "no silly, i have something planned. it's still on set obviously but it's not in here. you're in here pretty much all day. you should see some of the other parts of set." he started walking toward the door, motioning for me to follow behind him.

we walked for what felt like forever, finally ending up in the wheeler's basement. he turned the lights setup for the room on, holding his arms out. "here we are!" he beamed, sitting on the floor in the middle of the room. i got down on the floor next to him, sitting with my legs to the side, my knees folded and my arm behind me to hold myself up.

"so what are we doing here?" i decided to break the small silence, looking back to him after examining the room.

"hanging out. getting to know each other." he shrugged, leaning back as well.

i raised an eyebrow, tilting my head to the side. "are you suggesting we don't already know each other, dacre montgomery?" i teased, smiling a bit.

"i never said we didn't, i just want to know more about you, mona sutton." he shot back, shifting his weight on to his other arm.

we ended up talking for a while, breaking the base level of facts most friends would know by now. we got up when more of the crew arrived, the both of us heading back to the hair and makeup trailer. he sat in the back as i worked on the rest of the cast, not being needed until a later scene anyway.

he got into the seat when it was his turn, the atmosphere between us obviously having changed even the slightest bit. we joked more and he was just the slightest bit more cooperative, making the whole process a hell of a lot easier.

when i was finished working on him, i stepped back to look at him better, making sure everything was right. "alright, you're good to go." i smiled at him, getting out of the way so he could get up.

"we should hang out again like we did today, but more in the way you suggested. you know, outside of work." he stood up, leaning against the counter top.

i looked down, nodding slightly, "you know what, i will have to take you up on that. we can plan it when you're not about to be rushed on set." i laughed, noticing one of the crew members there to get him to where he needed to be.

"i'll take you up on that. can't wait." he walked to the door, being escorted out.
