mona's pov

it had been a week since i started working with the cast. i've gotten close to the younger members of the adult part of the cast, not that i'm not friendly with winona or david, they're just a lot older than i am.

i was working on natalia with charlie, joe, and dacre all crammed in the corner, messing around on their phones as well as joking with each other and trying to mess with me. they were throwing small pieces of paper at me while i was putting her hair into a ponytail for a scene where nancy was going to be in action. while i worked on her makeup, the two of us tried our best to ignore the boys, talking about our plans for our two days off from filming coming up.

"i'm going to sleep as much as possible, waking up at 4:30 every morning is really taking a toll on me." i bent over a bit to put eyeshadow on her, holding her eyebrow up to get better access. "and i'm just gonna stay home and catch up on all of the shows i've been missing." i added with a small laugh, receiving one back from her.

"i'm probably just going to spend time with charlie, and of course sleep in. that's a must. i don't know how you're able to wake up that early every day and still function. we don't even have to be here until 5:30 at the earliest. 7 at the latest." she pointed out although i already knew. boy did i know that fact.

"i'm barely making it, if you want me to be honest." i smiled a bit, dusting her cheeks with powder to set everything in place. moving to put on individual lashes. "but it's a routine now. drink a redbull or two, work out a little bit to get my blood going, and then i stay here all day. so in between when i have to take care of you guys i'm napping a bit."

"oh i'm sure you do. there's a lot of times you're not doing anything. you hardly ever have to touch up our makeup because you either have to take it all off to do a different look or it's every now and then." she hummed, tilting her head up for me.

"i know. i'm just so good at my job." i teased, getting a giggle out of her. "alright, you're done. don't mess it up natty. charlie, you're up."

he came to sit in the chair as natalia went to set with finn, the joking behind be dying down a bit when a piece of their team had left. his hair was already good enough to use for filming, so i didn't have to spend much time on it. he was always the easiest to work on out of all of the cast i had to work with, not having to do much to his hair and the simplest makeup most of the time. doing his makeup didn't take very long and we talked about the same things i did with natalia, though he was less talkative than she was.

next was joe's turn, proving everyday to be the most difficult of the bunch. he wouldn't sit still, wanting to continue messing around with dacre, which started to annoy me but luckily i was able to hide it. he would move anytime i tried to do something to his hair and i eventually had to grab his head to keep it still, forcing it back so we were looking at each other.

"if you don't calm down i'm gonna tie you to this chair and you'll starve and die." i scolded, the first part serious, adding in the second one to make it seem like i was just messing with him.

he sat still long enough for me to finish with his hair, trying to make it as big as possible without having it look crazy. i started on his makeup, which prompted dacre starting to mess with me. i dealt with it for as long as i could, growing visibly frustrated with the both of them. when they didn't catch on, i took a deep breath to try and calm down, even when them not letting up.

"are you okay?" sandy asked from next to me, being the only one to notice my change in attitude.

i gave her a small nod, taking another deep breath as i finished with joe, practically dragging him out of the chair. "go, you're needed on set and i don't want you in here anymore."

he got up and left after messing with dacre some more, dacre being more calm than the rest of them since the others weren't in the room anymore. i was visibly annoyed at this point, it being more than obvious that i wasn't in the best mood anymore. he caught onto my mood, immediately cooperating more.

i was quiet for most of the time i was working on him, just wanting him to get out of the trailer so i could relax. the moustache i had to put on him every day wasn't cooperating the one time i wanted it to.

dacre finally seemed to notice how frustrated i was, putting his hand on my arm. "hey, are you alright?" he asked softly. the whole time he was messing with me he was using his american accent, but right now he was talking with his real one.

i nodded, thinking i was still doing a good job at hiding how i was really feeling.

"mona, i can tell something is off. whats wrong? were we messing with you too much?"

i shook my head, not really knowing what to say. "i'm fine, now stop talking so i can put this stupid moustache on you." i snapped, finally getting it to stay down properly.

the rest of the time i worked on him was in silence, sandy having left to help touch up on the kids, so we were the only two in the room for the time being. i clipped in the mullet, stepping back when i was finished. "you're done."

"i'm really sorry about upsetting you, we were only messing around." he stood up, putting his hand on my shoulder.

"yeah, i know. but there's a time to mess around and there's a time to be serious. and when i'm doing my job it doesn't help when you guys are making my life hell." i looked down at the floor, not liking the fact that i had to actually admit how i was feeling.

"okay, i'll try and do better with that." he stood there for a second before heading to the door. "you're really good at your job, by the way. i hope you know that. even when we make your life hell you do a great job on all of us. so thank you." and with that he walked out, shutting the door behind him.
