No matter who you are, where you're from, or what you have to offer. My friend, you must be real. Nobody wants to read a book that they can't relate with. No one wants to read a book that won't make them stay awake all night. You need to be real.
And when I mean being real, write what you enjoy reading, write what you as a writer can relate with. Write what makes you feel at ease. You like humour? Then write what makes you laugh. As long as it makes you laugh, there is a probability that it will make them laugh as well. As long as you can relate with what you write, your readers won't feel the need to struggle with your characters.
Be real to yourself. You like mystery, but because sweetdreamer33 succeeded as a romance writer on Wattpad, you think the same thing will work for you? Sister, because your Dad is a pastor doesn't guarantee you will enter heaven.. Lols. Just saying.
You need to know what works for you. You need to know what you're good at.
So what have I been saying so far?
Yes. Write what you enjoy reading. Write what you think needs to be written. Write what you love.
