He came from practice and found Christen waiting at the school corridor for him. He was shocked to see her there then remembered that she had offered to take him for lunch.
"Why are you shocked to see me? Are you having something else to do? I can cancel the lunch" Christen said.
"No, I just did not expect you to be here at the corridor, we can proceed to lunch" Arhtur said.
They left the school compound and walked for about an hour before they arrived at one of the expensive hotels in that area. Arhtur looked at her with shock plastered on his face.
"Are you sure this is where we are having lunch or are you picking something here?" he said.
She smiled and continued walking towards the hotel.
"Are you not coming? Its my treat do not worry about anything" she said.
That seemed to have reassured him and he proceeded in the hotel behind her. He could not believe that he was in one of the most expensive hotels. He had to close his eyes and open them to make sure he was not dreaming.
All this time Christen was watching his reaction and smiling. She was happy to see that he was amazed by what she did. The waiter came to where they were standing.
"Excuse me Madam Christen your table is reserved" the waiter said as he led them to the table.
Arhtur pulled a chair for Christen then moved to his seat.
"Very gentleman like.Thank you" She said with a small blush on her face.
"You are welcome. I learnt etiquette of treating a lady out from someone special" he said.
Before they could continue with their conversation a waitress showed up at their table.
"What may I offer you?" she asked.
"Two glasses of the best champagne you have" Christen said before Arthur got to respond.
He was amazed by how she chose the drinks.
"Anything else?" the waitress asked.
"Bring the chef's special" Christen replied.
The waitress smiled and left. As soon as she left, Christen turned to face Arhtur.
"She was looking at you the whole time seems like someone is a lady charmer" she said.
"Oh...I had not noticed and as for being a lady charmer its for the ladies to tell" he said.
"So apart from school what else do you do?" she asked.
"I am a football player as well as an artist" he replied.
Their lunch and drinks arrived and they ate their food as they got to know more about each other. The afternoon was filled with smiles and laughter.
Their day came to a close when they walked to a bus stop and they had to part ways.
