Glidean, Galledon Kingdom, 3 and 1/2 weeks after the journey from Elverion

“Tut, tut. This is it? This is where I’m supposed to spend the rest of my life?” Taehyun said, incredulity showing on his face.

Taehyun and his retinues travelled almost a whole month from  Evlier through four different Kingdoms, which  were now part  of  the Kingdom of their destination, the Galledon Kingdom. The Kingdoms,  just  like  Elverion have bore the remnants of the Great  War. Many villages  have been  destroyed  and abandoned.  Those that had survived were  filled  with migrants and refugees most  of which  were peasants. It was the image  of  destruction  and despair.

It was an exhausting journey to say the least. It was very  much  uncomfortable and disconcerting  altogether. Finally  arriving  at their  destination was a big relief. Well,  it should’ve  at least been  a relief.  However, this was not the case with  Taehyun. He grew  distressed with every mile that they  progressed through  the city of Glidean, the capital of Galledon.

Once they  arrived  at the  border  of  the said city, they  were greeted  by  the long  expanse  of  high walls that surrounded the said city. They had to show a special  pass that showed they  were guests  of the King of  Galledon and was hence granted entrance. The pass was sent  to  Elverion after their surrender and once they  have finally  agreed to the terms  and conditions of Galledon one of which  was to  send for  Taehyun to marry  the King  of Galledon. This request  came as  a shock to  the  whole  Kingdom of Elverion considering  they  were  a defeated Kingdom. It didn’t quite make sense but they didn’t  really have a choice but to  oblige. 

Once they have entered the city, they were greeted with the sight of houses some made of stones and mud bricks. There  were  statues made of black stones atop raised platforms high enough to  have  a flight  of  stairs. There were buildings with  high walls and numerous doors. On the far-off  distance, there  was a high  cliff at the edge  of a mountain which looked  like it had windows and balconies. The  roads were  filled with people  who  wore  tunics that draped over  one of their shoulders and covered  their torso that ended just  above  their  knees. It was  scandalously  revealing  compared to  the  attire  in Elverion that  Taehyun was  used to. It was a hot day but  the  people were hustling  and bustling through the streets of Glidean.  There were many merchants who sold  a wide variety  of  goods. Many merchants traded food, some of which Taehyun had never seen in Elverion. Many were  selling  weapons and slaves that were  half naked.

Compared to Elverion,  this  city was  no match.  There was no elegance in  the  structures and  the common  attire was far too revealing  for  a personlike Taehyun who came from  a conservative  Kingdom like Elverion. All in all, there was nothing remarkable in  this city Taehyun thought.

He continued to look on  the  view  outside the carriage’s windows. He was then shocked  by  the one  of the performance  he  saw. There were  two  figures on top  of  small raised platform that  was surrounded by  dozens  of people inside  a low wall.  They were  all transfixed watching the two figures. One was  a girl who wore  nothing but a thin tunic  that was  now  showing her bare  chest. She was  intermittently whipping the other  figure,  a man, whose hands were  tied by  a rope causing his  arms to be spread-eagled while  his  knees  were  tied together causing to kneel.  When  the woman  was not  whipping  the man he  was shoving her  breasts  for the man  to  lick  and suck.

Taehyun stared wide-eyed at  the scene  unfolding. He was terribly shocked and subsequently  disgusted  at what  he was seeing.  Moments  later ,  he was  able  to  finally  tear his  eyes away. It hurt  Taehyun’s Elverios  pride  to think that they  were defeated by  a barabarian  state and now  he  was about to become  a part of  this Kingdom.
