The One That Got Away

Months Earlier...

(Somewhere in Lyoko)

"Okay, I'm in." William said.
"What do you see?" Jeremy's voice echoing in his head.
"It's dark... I can't see anything... It's like there's nothing in here... Nothing but darkness... Jeremy. Jeremy? Jeremy?" William begins panicking. He turns back, but can't find his way out.
"Jeremy, I can't find the exit. Jeremy? Jeremy can you hear me? Hello! Anybody?" William turns back and forth holding his sword up as protection. Suddenly, he hears something. The sound slowly approaches him. Then, got closer. As it came closer, the sound of feet paced faster and sounded faster and faster coming towards William. It was coming at full speed. William tried to run but where? There was nothing but pitch black. He ran blindly the opposite way. But the sound of those feet came that way as well. Then, he heard more as he looked left and right. What is it? He thought. He started to panic. Tightening his grip on his sword, Excalibur, he squints his eyes as he tries to see what it was. He generates power from Excalibur as a small portion of light appeared. Nothing. He looked to the left. Nothing. He looked to the right. Nothing. He looked to the front, left and right. All except what was behind him. He heard the sound of a leap and turned around. He saw sharp claws and screamed for help. The screeching sound of a monster he never recognize, hurt his ears. Unable to see it, he tries to hit it. But the monster's claws got a piece of him hurting his arm, causing him to drop his weapon as it slid away into the the darkness. The monster screeches so loud he covers his ears in pain. As soon as he opens his eyes, a mouth opened up and was about to bite his entire face.

Present Day

Sweating in fear, William wakes up. He was sweating head to toe. He wipes his head and turns around back and forth. He sees himself around a scanner. Inside a scanner? He thought. He was panicking asking for help. Outside, stood Tamiya. She was biting her nails wondering why the doors wouldn't open. So, she tries opening it herself.

Supercomputer

"Tamiya! Where are the others?" Laura begins to worry. She leaps down and sees Patrick already at the elevator. "Patrick, what are you -"
"- It's alright, Laura. I got this." Patrick pushes the button as the doors begin to close and descends to the Scanner Room.

Scanner Room

"Hey, are you alive?" Tamiya asks.
"Do I sound dead to you! Get me out of here! NOW!" William was really starting to panic.
"Try opening the doors with your hands. Together!" Tamiya tells him. William does just that. Together, they tried opening the doors. Tamiya didn't even pay attention to the sound of the elevator door opening behind her or Patrick running towards her. Patrick saw the situation. He pulls the door from one side as Tamiya pulls the other side.
Seconds later, the doors open abruptly as smoke appears. Dark smoke. Finally, coming out was William. At first he was standing on a limp, but then collapses onto the floor. Patrick gets a hold of him though, by using his quick reflexes. He slowly lowers his body down until he finally lays his head down.
"He can't breathe! Quick, get some water. I'll do CPR." Patrick quickly takes off his jacket and folds it, putting it under William's head as a pillow. "Now!" He demanded as Tamiya was just standing there still in shock. She snapped out of it moments later and rushed to the elevator and ascends back up to where Laura was.
"It's okay, buddy. Wake up. I got you." Patrick looks around and sees nobody around. He summons the glow as energy flowed though him and punches him right on the chest. Then, William started to cough up air that was clogging his lungs. He coughed and coughed until he finally took deep breaths. He slowly inhaled and then exhaled.
"That voice..." William slowly said.
"It's me." Patrick slapped his cheeks left and right once. William was seeing triple. Then, double. Finally, it came down to one. He saw Patrick at last.
Patrick wipes his forehead, "Phew. For a second I thought you were -"
William then gets up and attacks Patrick by spearing him to a scanner behind him. Put Patrick retaliated. He grabs a hold of his arm that he used to tackle him down with. And then, turns it around towards his back and shoves him to the nearest wall. But William puts his feet against the wall and pushes them back and fall. Free from his grasp, William throws a punch. But Patrick turns the entire right side of his body to his 6 o'clock position dodging the swing as he tilts his neck to avoid the hit. Patrick then swings his right foot up like a baseball bat to William's ribs. William catches it though. Patrick gasps. Smiling, William pulls him with all his might and throws him to the elevator door.
