SAWYER stood alone, her little trailer ransacked and ruined. Pictures were smashed, beer cans were scattered, and the couch was overturned. The girl's heart seemingly melted in her chest, contracting as the girl covered her mouth with a shaking palm. This is what she deserves? She stepped forward, her boots crushing the glass from an overturned picture. Her fingers were trembling when she reached down to pick the broken frame up, and she overturned the busted wood.
A tear trailed down her cheek, dripping to the floor as she eyed the ruined picture. Her mother's face was seemingly scratched out with a piece of glass, but she could still see that the older woman had been smiling, just like the mini version of herself, and her father. The only family picture she had; ruined.
A sob racked through her body, her shoulders slumping forward as she threw the picture frame at the flimsy walls of the trailer, the busted frame breaking even more. The teenager stood to her feet, kicking at the glass in anger, and she bit her lip so hard she swore she drew blood. She knew her father was going down south the moment her mother was taken into custody, Sheriff Keller believed she had killed Jason Blossom.
The Serpents had been Sawyer's father's fallback, and through Sawyer despised how her father acted, yet she supported him, even going as far as thinking about joining The Serpents, but she just couldn't. Her father must have done this during one of his rages, he does this when he drank a lot. He never touched her, he was a good father, he just had a lot of issues, but Sawyer still loved him.
She stepped deeper into the little trailer, moving over to the flipped couch. Her muscles strained as she tried to flip the couch over herself, but no matter what she did, the damn thing wouldn't move. She couldn't even call any of her friends, for they didn't even know she lived in a trailer, or that her dad was an angry drunk. Hell, her friends didn't even know her mother was in jail, and if they did? They never said anything to her.
She slumped on the couch in defeat, letting out a strangled cry, and she fell to her knees. Glass cut into her skin in the process, but she didn't care about that as she pulled her phone from her back pocket. Her thumbs moved over the screen before hovering over the call button.
Her stomach tightened, she didn't think he was going to answer, but his smooth voice sounded in her ears after the fourth ring; "Sawyer?"
"Jughead?" Sawyer whispered, her voice weak and shaky from her tears, she felt him shuffle around, as if he was sitting up, though he didn't say anything, so she continued to talk, "I need your help."
"What's wrong?" There was more shuffling, and it sounded like a door opening. Sawyer closed her eyes tightly, more tears running down her cheeks, and she sucked in a deep breath of air.
"I need you to come to my house ," Sawyer murmured into the receiver, her hand gripping her phone even tighter than before, her breathing getting shallower and shallower, "and don't ask questions, please."
Sawyer ended the call before Jughead could answer, and she opened her eyes slowly. She scanned the room once more, and slowly regret filled her stomach, she felt like she should have never called Jughead Jones, but at the same time, maybe it was the right thing to do.
