VERONICA felt somewhat accomplished as she fixed Betty's uniform, complimenting her apperance, and Betty felt her heart swell. She had never been part of a team before and honestly it felt amazng, this is how Polly had to have felt when she made the team.
Sawyer beamed at the two girls, and she skipped over to them. She was so excited for Betty, having seen what happened last year, but last year she didn't have the courage to stick it to Cheryl, hell, she barely had the courage this year! Betty sent a large grin back to the happy-go-lucky girl, and she picked at her fingers nervously, "Thank you, Sawyer, for sticking up for me."
"No problem Betty, you're a part of my team now," Sawyer gushed, making Betty's large smile only grow. Sawyer turned her attention toward Veronica, fixing the top of her own cheer uniform, "and you, Veronica Lodge, sure have guts."
"Why did you defend me?" Betty spoke up, making Sawyer turn away from Veronica. Veronica tilted her head, peering at Betty with squinted eyes. Why wouldn't Veronica support her? Betty elaborated on her question, bringing up her past in New York.
Veronica smiled at Betty soon after, but she never answered her question, "Do you want to go show Archie your new uniform?"
Betty immediately brightened up at the sound of Archie's name, and Sawyer's heart strings tugged for Thomas' sake. When she went over tonight, this definitley would not be coming up, that's for sure. Betty invited Sawyer to tag along, but she declined politely, telling the duo that she had something to do. And that was true, this was Sawyer's time to get a free shower without having to go home.
"See you later, then?" Betty questioned, and for once Sawyer didn't feel like she was hiding something, that she had to pretend to be perfect. She nodded once, twice, three times, a real grin making her cheeks hurt.
"Yeah, of course!" Sawyer watched as Betty and Veronica left the locker room, and she waited on a bench until every last Vixen had left. It was her and Cheryl that were left, and the redhead didn't leave without a snide comment.
"You step out of line one more time, Sawyer Foley," Cheryl hissed, slamming her locker shut and turning to face the girl, her red hair swishing over her shoulder. Her icy glare was set right on Sawyer's warm brown eyes, "you're off the team."
"You won't kick me off Cheryl," Sawyer replied cooly, blowing a piece of hair out of her face. Her messy ponytail was definitely falling down, but that was at the least of her concerns now. Right now, it was Cheryl, and the way the redheaded bitch believed that she could walk all over her, after what she did to her mother, oh hell no, "and you want to know why?"
Sawyer's doe eyes look fell, and Cheryl had the same look she had when Veronica confronted her. Cheryl stepped back as Sawyer got into Cheryl's personal space, and she could feel the purple-haired girl's breath on her cheek. She gulped, and Sawyer took this as a time to continue, "I know more shit than you could even begin to understand, and you kick me off the team, I will not hesitate to expose you."
"Expose me?" Cheryl's voice was getting lower, and thicker. Every word that Sawyer had spoke was coming straight from her ass, and she had no clue what exactly she'd expose, but if it was scaring Cheryl so much, she had to be hiding something, "Of what?"
"You know exactly what I am talking about." Sawyer stepped back, and Cheryl didn't say another word. With duffle bag in hand, the red head practically dashed out of the door. The locker room was silent, and Sawyer let out a sigh of relief. She let herself sit in silence for another minute, before she found herself belting out the lyrics to Umbrella, straberry scented soap in her hair, and hot water spilling down her back.
Veronica was rushing through the hallway, going back for her purse that she had left. If she lost it, her mother was going to have her head. She peaked into the locker room, spotting her black bag attop of the bench she had left it on, but a voice was filling the room.
"When the sun shines, we'll shine together." The voice was enchanting, that only got louder as Veronica neared the shower area. Her eyes nearly popped out of her skull when she saw Sawyer, soap in her hair and a loofah in hand, singing her heart out. An idea popped into her head, and the familar redheaded boy popped into her mind.
"You're actually perfect, aren't you?" Veronica's voice made Sawyer's singing come to a halt. The purple-haired girl turned to look at Veronica so quickly, she thought she had gotten whiplash. Luckily, the walls were high enough to where Veronica could only see Sawyer's shoulders, but that didn't stop the girl from blushing.
She rinsed the soap from her hair, not answering the dark-haired girl, and Veronica stepped closer, leaning against the wall, a smirk tugging at her lips as Sawyer shut the water off, wrapping herself in a towel provided by the school. Her body was flushed pink, probably from the burning hot water, and she smelled of strawberry and mint. Veronica raised a brow, "I mean, you sing, you're athletic, you're smart, gorgeous."
"I'm not really," Sawyer admitted, but Veronica didn't catch on to her confession, that was laced with nothing but the truth. Veronica rolled her eyes, turning away as Sawyer pulled on her undergarments, and she shook her head.
"Do you happen to," Veronica probed, turning back around just as Sawyer tugged on a pair of athletic shorts, "tutor people on the subject of music?"
"Depends?" Sawyer urged, giving Veronica a confused look. She had no idea where this girl was going, though she was curious. Veronica smiled a devious grin and she didn't say anything as Sawyer tugged on a tee shirt with the football logo on it.
"Could you, I don't know." Veronica clapped her hands together as Sawyer patted her hair with the towel she used to cover herself, and she felt even more accomplished than before, "Possibly help Archie Andrews out?"
