❝well, I feel the same.❞

SCHOOL was something Sawyer absolutely dreaded. It was the place where she became someone completely different. She wasn't that girl who lived in a trailer with her serpent father, she was perfect. She shut her locker with a sigh, and Thomas had made his way over to her.
"Are you trying out for cheer again this year?" Thomas' question made Sawyer's face scrunch up. Cheer was something her mom had done when she was in high school, and Sawyer was only carrying on the tradition. She didn't reply, simply shrugged.
"Are you going to ask Betty to the Semi-Formal?" Thomas squinted at his friend, and the duo didn't even notice as Betty walked around the school, Kevin Keller and the new girl beside her. Betty continued her tour, though Kevin interrupted her.
"Those two over there," Kevin spoke up, turning the new girl's attention over to the girl with the purple hair and the boy with messy locks, "that's Sawyer and Thomas, Sawyer's the definition of perfect, and Thomas is, well, Thomas."
"Touché-- holy shit there she is!" Thomas cut himself off, his eyes shifting over toward Betty, who looked absolutely stunning in his opinion. Her ponytail looked amazing as always-- Thomas' gaze reached his shoes, a blush covering the nape of his neck.
The new girl, Veronica Lodge, raised a brow at the boy's antics. She noticed how he had looked at the blonde, it was the same way the blonde looked at that redhead from the other night. What was his name again? Archie.
"I think Thomas has a little crush on Betty," Veronica smirked, and Kevin rolled his eyes at the new girl's words. Betty didn't say anything as she played with her fingers, her hangnails suddenly much more interesting.
"Little is an understatement," Kevin complained, as he trailed after the two girls who kept walking, "Thomas has been in love with Betty since the second grade."
"Woof." Veronica huffed, eyeing the poor boy who was currently lightly hitting his head against Sawyer's locker repeatedly. Her lips curled up in a small smile, but her breath was completely taken away when she noticed Archie walking through the hallway, "double woof, there's the hottie we were with last night; the red-headed Ansel Elgort, is he your boyfriend?"
Kevin and Betty were in sync as they eyed the attractive redheaded boy, Betty mumbling out how they were just friends, and Kevin talking about Archie's sexuality. Veronica raised a brow at their antics, but a smirk tugged at her perfectly glossed lips, " In that case, mind putting in a word? I've tried every flavor of boy but orange."
