What is really weakness within someone? Well let's look at it like this. If you fall and cry but get back up, you aren't weak. If you fall, and roll around on the floor, and cry and whine, and can't possibly bring yourself to get back up, you are weak. Those of us that brave through death, those of us that brave through trauma, stress, pain, lies and horrible lives, aren't weak. Now, many of those who are suicidal, many, who don't see point in living anymore, are weak. If you lose both your arms and both your legs, and you can say "Well, on the bright side I'm still alive!" What is that? Well, that is someone who has realized that they have to change their perspective on life. To use a much darker tone, we can look at the holocaust. A truly tragic and horrifying event. At least in the eyes of most anyway. Well a survivor of the holocaust, would just be happy to be free. To have food, a house, a roof, warmth from blankets again. Life is about realizing reality sucks. The special snowflakes now being created will never realize this until it's too late. I say this because I live among many who whine about the past, many who cry about how hard their life is constantly. I once saw a girl of 15 years old cry, because our teacher accidently yelled at her for tissue which made me laugh. Many people don't know what reality is anymore. Many people can't move on from tragic events because its "too much". I'm not talking about those who have had something tragic happen and they learn to be happy after a year or so. I'm talking about those who become obsessed with tragedy forever and ever and bury themselves in sorrow. Take the example of the Babadook's main character or the mother. Her husband died eight years before the movie began, and she still was extremely depressed, as stated by a multitude of characters. That is someone who fell and never got back up.
Many things, many of us like to take for granted or rarely acknowledge. But people who see tragedy, then become happier than everyone have changed to realize something. See, these are changes in their perspectives. These are changes that can make one's life significantly easier if they think about it. For example, many of us want that next material goody. Many of us want to win at something and many of us want to be the best. But just mere existence for some, is enough. That is a mind state many of us desire to get too. But as many of us know, it is near impossible. It near pointless to try to make it to that point because we are beings of desire. Many of us are beings of condescending nature that like to better than the next guy. It's survival of the fittest in the society of capitalism we live (At least in America I don't make that claim for everywhere). I'm not asking you to change your perspective and to be grateful because even I find that to be utterly pointless. You can tell anyone with decent living conditions to be grateful and they will only acknowledge it in that very moment. I just warn that if something truly horrid happens and you have had time to grieve, change your perspective on life.
