(Flashback, (Y/N)'s pov. Age, 9)

A young boy was locked away in his room, weeping as he wondered why he was being treated as such. This boy, is known as (Y/N) (L/N), or (Y/N) Belladonna, due to his relation to the belladonna family, but he was not treated as such.

Since he was human, and adopted, he never really was welcomed by them. In the beginning, it started off small and it didn't seem like he was being neglected or abused, but it later progressed and became much worse, with his father and mother not just ignoring him, but punishing and hitting him, and if that wasn't enough, his sister bullied and beat him within an inch of his life, and always blamed him if she ever did something bad.

He was the only one to be treated as such, by both them and the village they lived in, and he absolutely hated it.

"(Y/N)! Guess what?" Blake looked at his brother from his door. "Mom and Dad got me this!" She held up a toy sword, about her size. "What did you get?"

He simply looked down and tightened up into a ball. "Oh yeah, YOU don't get anything at all! I wonder why they let you into our family when you weren't even worth the time."

Blake laughed at what she said, and left. After he was certain that she was gone, he started to weep, and begin to think that she was right. Why would they adopt a human child? For the publicity? Or so that they can put the blame on him whenever something bad happens on someone?

He couldn't take it.

"Why?... I never did hurt anyone, or anything... but they constantly yell at me, and tell me I'm nothing but a waste of life... " he cried when he said this, and didn't stop for a long time.

the next morning, he was left alone, and saw a note on the door. It said; "we'll be gone for the day. Do something useful for once, child, and don't break or mess anything up. Kali."

"She didn't even bother to call me her son... " After that, he just locked himself in, and simply stayed there until they came back.

A few hours passed, and he started to hear them come in, and they began to speak about him.

"He's nothing but a human, ghira. He shouldn't even be here."

"Which is why we need to take him back."

"But the orphanage-"

"I'll make some arrangements, and he be back there."

He couldn't believe it. They were going to take him back to where he was before, but what really got him to cry, was this.

"Kali, you know that he isn't worth anything. He's just a waste."

"I know, but shouldn't we be doing something other than that?"

"What? are you suggesting we accept him as our own!?"

(Y/N) didn't need to hear the rest of their conversation, he just grabbed some of his belongings, and he put on the one good thing he had since he was in the orphanage.

He had this since his days in the orphanage, and he never showed his family them, because of his fear of getting them taken away.

----3 hours later... ----

After he packed up all he needed, he heard the door open, and his father walked in.

"(Y/N), it's late, get to bed, now."

"Yes, sir."

(Y/N) started to climb into his bed, and heard his door close. An hour has passed, and he heard his parent's and his sister's room door close. That was his signal to get out of his room and leave menagerie.

He started to climb out his window, and sneak out of the place, and left for the habor. He sneaked aboard, and hid in a small compartment.

As the ship left, he thought of all the times he was abused by his "family," and smiled at what he said.

"I'm finally free.... free... from that hell."

----Timeskip to morning, 3rd person's pov----

Blake felt the sun hit her face, and she sat up, and yawned. She simply looked at her toy sword from her parents, and remembered what she said to her brother. She soon had a sad look, and began to tell herself what a jerk she is.

"I wonder if he's mad... mom and dad said that how we treat him is for a secret... I wonder why?... I'm going to tell him that... he would understand. He's a good brother!" She told herself.

Blake walked out of her room, and headed to her brother's room and knocked on his door. After a while, she knocked again, and got the same silence. "Is he still alseep?... "

She walked into his room, and saw his room to be nearly empty, but what really gave her watery eyes, was what she saw all over his room.

All over his room, were the crudely written words: nuisance, trash, garbage, waste, human, and on the wall where his front door is, was a crudely drawn picture of his family, and a piece of crumpled paper, with an arrow pointing at it saying; "me."

Blake ran out of her room, and started to bawl. Soon after, ghira and kali ran to blake's location, and saw her near her brother's room.

"Blake, sweetie? What's wrong?" Kali tried to comfort her daughter, but blake simply pointed at his room, and when the two walked in, ghira and kali were not only shocked, but regretful and mournful.

It ended up like this, even after blake left with the white fang, and even when she entered beacon.

Throughout that time, the family tried to find their lost child, and even the village realized that what they did was more than wrong, it was downright demonic.

Every day, afterwards, kali would walk into her son's room, and since they never really touched most of the belongings he had, it stayed the same, especially the writings and drawing.

Remembering what they did to him. More accurately, what she did as a mother to her own son. She sat on his bed, and remembered all the times they were abusive on a 9-year old child.

"Oh, oum.... what have we done... what have I done.... " She began to softly weep, regretting what they did, even if they had a choice in the matter.
