Prologue: part 3

(Author's note: this takes place after a short while the reader left menagerie, so this is still when he's still a child.)

----3rd person's pov----

After the ship stopped at the harbor it had reached, (Y/N) got out of the small compartment, and left immediately to avoid getting caught. He did, however, take some food as to not starve. Now all he needed to do was to find a place to call home.

----3-day Timeskip----

It's been three days after (Y/N) left the harbor, and four weeks since he left menagerie, and during those three days, he ran out of food, due to most of it being stolen during he was asleep.

Now, he's been wandering around aimlessly, starving and tired.

"It's been... three days since I left... I'm going to die... aren't i?... " He said that to himself, and before he knew it, he collapsed and passed out, near the base of a mountain.

A figure saw what happened, and walked down to where he is. His staff hit the ground next to (Y/N)'s face, and he examined him.

"Hmmm... he's needs more protein... but this... " The old man picked up the golden mask from the child's backpack, and examined it. "So... he has the ignika... then he must be the one... but other than that, he needs help...."

He picked the child up, and carried him to the village hidden inside the mountain.

(4-hour timeskip.)

----(Y/N)'s pov----

I don't know what was happening, one second I was near a mountain, now I'm in a bed.... a soft one, at that. After I woke up, I caught a wonderful scent, and it smelled delicious.

"Ah, I see that you've woken up." I heard a voice behind me, and when I turned around, I saw an old man, wearing very noble clothing, and he's holding a staff with an orange orb at the top.

"Who.... who are you... mister... " I was afraid of what the man might do, but he simply chuckled. "Calm down, child. You needn't worry. I took you here when I saw you passed out in front of the village entrance, during my afternoon walk... are you hurt?" He stood up from his mat, and walked towards me. I got off the bed I was in, and stood up.

"... no, I'm fine.... but, what was that smell?" "Ah, that would be lunch... would you like some?" He offered me some of the meat I saw over a small campfire, and I felt my mouth water.

"Yes, please." I said. He led me over to another mat next to his, and when I sat down, it was quite comfortable. "... here you are, enjoy." He handed me a stick filled with meat, and from what I saw, vegetables.

"Nui-jaga meat is best served fresh from the grill, along with some vegetables from le-koro." The old man said, and I looked confused. "... nui... jaga?... what's that?... " I asked chomping down on the meat.

"Nui-jaga are large scorpion beasts, and are very dangerous even when one is only present. In a pack, it is advised to stay away." I stopped and looked down at the meat, and paled a bit. The old man saw this, and smiled. "It is alright. The part you have is far from their poison glands. It is the leg."

I sighed in relief. "So... mister... where am i?" The old man simply chuckled. "In ta-koro, the fire village, and I am Turaga Vakama."

"Turaga vakama, is it alright if I ask why I was brought here?"

"Well, you seem to carry a very odd item." (Y/N) had a confused look. "What item?"

"This mask." Turaga vakama held up the mask, and handed to him. Taking it back, vakama continued to speak. "How did you come into contact with that mask, young one?" (Y/N) stiffened. "I... I had it since I was a baby... I was left at an orphanage, and when they saw me, I was in a basket with a blanky, and the mask was acting as another blanket."
