The Engagement

We've been in college for over a year now. Lucas is in an athlete program, Riley in a teaching program, Zay in a police program, Farkle is following in his dad's footsteps and I'm in an art program.

But none of that mattered right now. The only thing I'm focusing on is Farkle.

Farkle went down on one knee and opened a velvet box, showing a beautiful dimond ring with a gold band. "Maya," He said. "You are beautiful, so beautiful. And smart and funny and just... brilliant." He said looking in to my eyes. "You are so brilliant that one day a man is going to get down on one knee and ask you the question, and..and I don't want you to marry anyone but me. I love you Maya. I love you so much and I'll say it till I die. Please Maya; please make me your husband and marry me?"

I looked at him. I went on my knees in front of him. I put my hands on the side of his face and kissed him, he kissed back and I pulled away and looked him in the eyes. "Only, if you make me your wife and marry me." I said with a smile, as everyone cheered around us, Farkle and I kissed again and again, until we finally stood up and Farkel put on my ring.

..........................

And that's how I got engaged. But that's not where the story starts, let's start two years ago at the school dance. . .

.........................

Riley was dancing with Lucas. He picked Riley over me, but.. their happy and in love. I won't stop them, as long as everyone's happy, then I'm happy.

"Stop looking at them or else someone's gonna get punched." Farkle laughed lightly, as he made his way to stand beside me.

"As long as everyone's happy, then I'm happy." I said.

"But not everyone is happy." I looked at him. "You're not happy, Maya." He looked at me concerned.

I looked at the couple on the dance floor. "Maybe.." I looked at him again. "But look at them," I said nodding my head in their direction. "Their perfect for each other. Riley's happy. I'm not gonna take that away."

He seemed to understand. He took my hand, pulled me to the dance floor and we started to dance. "What do you think you're doing?" I said trying to hide my blush.

"I want to make a deal." He said with a smirk.

"What's the deal?" I asked, interested.

"How about we start dating, and if I can't make you fall in love with me in six months, then I will do anything you say." He said.

I thought about it. "Deal." I said. "So when do we start dating?" I ask. He smirks that smirk again and the next thing I know I'm being dipped.

"How about now?" He smiled and all I could do was laugh.
