No one’s POV

No one spoke, only watched as the horrific scene unfolded before them. Her family watched as her body was being descended further and further into the ground.

“Beloved daughter and friend”

The silence proved too much for some people as the each walked away one by one, heartfelt sobs floating through people’s ears. Even the clouds above the small crowd darkened and small water droplets lightly sprinkled on the people below. Soon umbrellas roofed everyone’s heads to shield them from the rain, all except for Justin. He stood n between his mother and father as they tried their best to comfort him. Justin just shook them off whenever they had any direct contact with him; he didn’t want anyone touching him. He felt nothing, the only thing he could think about was not seeing her again, not being able to touch her again, not being able to hear her voice or her heavenly laugh when he said something so incredibly daft.

Her lips would never touch his again.

The tears poured down his cheeks vastly and he struggled to keep his breathing together, his sobs were getting caught in his throat which made him feel as if he was going to be sick. He placed a hand over his mouth and tried to keep his breathing together, but it was no use. His cried became louder as the priest began to speak. He watched his mouth move but he couldn’t hear a word that was coming out of his mouth. His eyes scanned around the unfamiliar faces who cried along to the words the priest was reciting.

He couldn’t stand this. The thought of her being gone with no chance of coming back was a thought that plunged a knife through his heart, whatever was left of it. She tore his heart out right from his chest the second she left him.

His mother gripped his arm tightly as the ceremony was slowly coming to an end, people placed flowers near the tombstone and some were delicately thrown on top of the casket. Justin felt his breathing become more and more frantic and the people were now told to leave.

“No.” He whispered softly, but it seemed as if no one had heard him. His parents suddenly were nowhere at his side and he found himself alone, everyone had disappeared. He crouched down to the level of her tombstone and softly traced the engraved “M” of her name.

“M-Mandy.” He sobbed and clutched his hand to his heart as soon as a sharp pain erupted through him.

“N-No you’re gonna be okay, you’re gonna come back right?” He was met with silent and it made his sobs grow deeper.

This was his reality.

She was gone.

He laid his body down right next to her tombstone and felt the rain drops become heavier onto his face. He closed his eyes and envisioned her smile and laugh, the sound still vivid in his mind. He soon felt his body fall into numbness and he felt the pain become slightly bearable.

Justin felt himself jolt up from his sleep with small beads of sweat forming on his forehead; he wiped them away and adjusts his site to the familiar hospital room. He looked towards her bed to see her lying down and soft snores erupting from her lips. He breathed out a sigh of relief and lifted himself up from the uncomftorble couch he had the infortune of having to sleep in.

He made his way towards her and felt his heart return to its normal beat when he saw she was okay, tears still managed to pool his eyes but he didn’t let them fall. He leaned over to give her lips a soft peck and he smiled once he felt her respond. She groaned and pulled away, softly bringing her hands up to rub her eyes.
