The wind blew harshly in the early January morning causing Finn's hair to tickle the side of his face. Finn's face gave an annoyed expression as he brought his hand up to pull the hair out of his face, though it was no use as it would just fly back anyways. Anger bubbled in Finn due to the argument that had just occurred between him and his brother, it was about their mother. It was always about their mother.

Finn's father had married Wyatt's mother when the boys were ten, they instantly felt a brotherly bond that still hadn't vanished to this day. Finn's mother had left Finn and his father two years after Finn was born to run away with someone she had an affair with, of course it broke Finn's heart which made him shut out the world until he met Wyatt's mother. He instantly loved her like a mother and forgot of his own mother and her doings. After the boys had turned thirteen Finn's father died, which meant Wyatt's mother had to raise to teenage boys on her own.

Now Finn was muttering to himself curse words that his mother or at least what felt like his mother would smack the back of his head for. Wyatt had given the boy an eye roll before pulling on the handle to Finn's rusted orange pick up truck. The handle had been jammed, again. Wyatt had always told Finn to sell the truck and get a new one, but Finn always fought back. The truck was Finn's father's truck. For five years Finn and his father had worked on the truck to make it drivable. Finn had cherished the truck and would never just give it to some asshole who wouldn't take care of it.

Finn pulled open his door almost hitting himself in the process due to force. He glanced around and stopped as he spotted a boy walking out of the house next to his own. The boy intrigued Finn, he had never seen the boy around so he must be new. Wyatt snapped his fingers from the passenger side of Finn's truck which had brought Finn out of his trace. He lazily hopped into the truck, slamming the door causing a whimper to escape Wyatt's lips that was hardly audible, Finn still heard.

He gave Wyatt a look that read "I'm sorry" and stuck his key into the ignition. The truck rumbled to life, soft crumbles coming from the old thing. Finn turned the stick shift from the warn out P to the freshly painted D. He scanned Jack, his feet skid across the rough pavement, his face showed nothing. Finn didn't understand how the boy had no emotion, he himself felt drowned in emotions. He wished they would all vanish leaving him with nothing.

"Hey it's a new kid" Finn had pointed out to a still annoyed Wyatt. Wyatt had shaken his head toward Finn and breathed out a dramatic laugh, confusing Finn. "Finn that is Jack Grazer, he had lived next door to us since before I got here. He is best friends with Jaeden Lieberher" Wyatt informed as a smirk plastered onto his face. Finn's smile fell off his face and confusion grew even more than it had before. He wondered to himself why he had never seen Jack, he must have been a wallflower or something. There school was large so it must have been difficult for Finn the even notice the small boy around.

Finn simply shrugged the thought of Jack away and gently pushed his foot onto the pedal of the truck, moving it forward and away from the home the two shared. The ride was quiet, Finn's mind flooded with thoughts of Jack and who the boy was. Jack had seemed to fascinate Finn and Finn needed to know more about the boy. As Finn pulled up to the school he instantly pushed the truck into park, a crash like sound escaping the car.

"Finn what the hell" Wyatt exclaimed as Finn pulled his door open (a bit of rust falling off the side due to the force) and scrambled out of his truck. Finn reached in the truck window which was half way down and pulled out his blue bag before slinging the bag over his shoulder. Wyatt felt himself let out an eye roll at his brother's enthusiasm before leaving the truck himself.

Finn scanned the grounds looking for the boy that clouded his mind. "Hi Finn" A bubbly Jaeden exclaimed hurrying toward me, his feet skidding across the cement. "Hi Wyatt" A blush creeped toward Wyatt's face as he sent Jaeden a small wave, his hands getting clammier by the second. "Heh-hey Jaeden and Jack" Wyatt muttered out as he turned to face a different direction.

"Jack" Finn muttered under his breath thinking on the name. The name clicked in his mind as he faced the young boy that was hurried behind Jaeden's tall figure. "I'm Finn" Finn had said louder than he wanted causing the boy to go farther behind Jaeden. "He um is sensitive" Jaeden explained while wrapping his arms around Jack's petit figure, tightening his grip as he glanced at Finn with a raised eyebrow. "I-I uh apologies I just wanted to introduce myself" Finn explained as he unknowingly brought his sweating hand up to the back of his neck, giving it a small scratch.

"Well I have Algebra two so I'll get going" Finn informed as e turned on his heel. "Wait Jack has that too, could you walk him I have to get to a council meeting and he hates walking alone" Jaeden begged as he dropped his grip on the smaller boy. Jack's eye widen at the thought of it, his body began to tremble. "Yeah of course we're friends Jae" Finn had said more excited that he wanted. Jack took shaky steps in his direction, his legs throbbing from last night.

As Jack approached Finn he felt his legs give in so he quickly snaked his arms around Finn left upper arm which securely held him. Finn wrapped his arm around Jack's thin waist as a blush crept from his collar up to his pale cheeks. Finn practically dragged Jack into the large brown building with two stories and a large balcony roof. Walking into the build was difficult for Jack. He had never been a fan of people watching him and now as they walked into the building people's eyes managed to make their way toward the pair.

A soft whimper escaped his lips as he attempted to pull away from Finn which hadn't worked due to the fact Finn was not paying and Jack was to weak for him to notice. Jack left with no more options had stuck his face into Finn's shoulder, that caused Finn to look down at him. Finn admired the younger boy which made him clash into Sadie Sink, someone Jack knew all too much.

"Hey watch i- oh sorry Finn and...jack?" Sadie questioned as she eyed the younger boy. Jack pushed himself closer to Finn, attempting to hide himself from the abusive girl. "Why are you hanging out with Jack" Sadie questioned as her eyes rolled toward the back of her head. "I'm just walking him to class chill" Finn let out a small chuckle as he griped Jack, he felt tension in the air. "He is a loser, a nobody, he freak I simply don't get it" Sadie said as she turned to face Mille her best friend since the girls were in sixth grade.

"Let's go talk to Lillis" Millie snickered as a small laugh escaped her lips. "You guys are gonna hurt her aren't you" Finn rose an eyebrow at the smiling pair. "Na-no" Millie said as she turned away from Finn. Mille had always adored the boy but was always too coward to do anything about it. Her breathing fastened and her breath hitched slightly. "Whatever" Finn muttered as he pulled away from the pair.

"I'm sorry about her-" Finn began but Jack had finished before him "No we should not talk, I'm a freak". Finn rolled his eyes and pulled Jack closer. "Nah" Finn's eye gave Jack a glance as a smile tugged at lips.
