Sophia pushed herself away from the plush comforters that laid limp over her. The thought of her father scared her, she wasn't sure if it was the memory of who he once was or just that he was dead. Sophia remembered the day her mother came home bawling horrifically.

"mom where's daddy". "oh buh-baby he's in h-h-heaven". "where is that mommy, is he coming back"

Sophia soon learned her father would never come back, no matter how much she cried out for him. She shook the rambling thoughts out of her head and pushed herself out of the large bed. Her room was nothing out of the ordinary, it has a queen-size bed that was pushed into the center of the wall that was next to her door, she had a bay window filled with plush pillows that was directly across her bed. And on the wall to the right of her bed was a closet, above it hung pale christmas lights that reflected against the pale yellow colored room.

Sophia took soft steps against the creaky wooden floors in attempts not to wake their mother. It was late, around twelve, maybe Jeremy wasn't even up. Sophia was soon in front of the large blue door that had a photo of books under the words 'JEREMY'S ROOM'.

Sophia pushed the cracked door open reviling Jeremy and a girl with fiery red hair that sat together, a book in their laps and their hands loosely clamps in between them. "Jeh-Jer" Sophia mustered out, a tang of pain poking at her heart like a cushion pin.

They both glance up from the book to see a teary-eyed Sophia hanging at the foot of the bed. "Hey sis" Jeremy lets out as he tries to fade away from the awkwardness that filled the air. "Why" A single tear ran down her face as she watched her brother and bully cuddle together. "I'll explain hun" Sadie said while letting out a sharpe cough.

Sadie glanced around the room, desperately needing to find a copy of 'Lord of the Flies'. She turned to the librarian assistant who also happened to be Sophia's brother. "Sorry to bother you but do you know where Lord of the Flies is" Sadie questioned. Her breath hitched as he turned in her direction, a displeased look fell on his face.

Jeremey put his hand under the table before pulling a copy of the book, which was just returned by Sophia. "Here now go" Jeremy snapped a stern glare still on his face. "I am sorry about the whole sister thing, I just-" "Just felt you might fit in huh" Jeremy read the girl like a book.

"Popularity isn't everything, I used to actually like you. You were kind and dorky-" "You liked me" A blush crept to Sadie's face as the thought filled her mind. She had always like the boy. "No I didn't, uh" He began before he felt his throat dry up. Sadie pushed herself over the table and placed a kiss on his cheek before turning away with a smile.
