The thought of Jack ran through Finn's mind, the boy was mental but he was like a magnet drawing him closer to Finn. As Finn thought of the boy a harsh knock came from his window. The same window he had found himself admiring Jack from. Quickly Finn's head snapped toward the window, curiosity and fear filled his body like water in a flood.

Through the window he seen Jack waiting impatiently for him to open the window. The morning news had broadcasted this morning that it would be 8 below tonight. Finn hurried out of the warmth of his bed to the window, slipping his hands toward the handle and pulling it up. The night's frosty air pilled into the heated room, sending a shiver down both boy's backs.

"Hey" Finn said as Jack pushed himself through the narrow opening. Jack had been dressed in basketball shorts and a long sleeve t-shirt with a nike logo across the center. Finn slammed the window and shut and bolting it before turning his attention back toward Jack who was now sitting criss cross on his bed, glancing around the room in curiosity.

Finn took a few moments to admire him, only a few before the moment was crushed in his palm. He looked toward Jack's legs which were swollen and and covered in a deep purple. "Ja-Jack what happened" Finn found himself bending in front of the boy, his eyes glued to his legs. "Did your parents do this" Finn asked as he slowly started to bring his hand up to the bruises before they were slapped away.

"Of course not, I did it" Jack shrugged it off as if it were the simplest thing in the world. Finn was lost in words, what was he suppose to say to the boy he loved that also happened to self harm. "Jack stop" He mumbled, to quiet for Jack's ear to pick up the sound. Jack gave him a look, one that read 'stopping looking at me that way' the look he gave his mother when she was discussing information with the therapist.

Jack hated sitting in the dull room filled with simply air and tension. His mother cried, his father gave him a soft look (the one you would get after loosing a t-ball game), and the therapist just sat there, informing the family of his conditions. His voice was robotic like a telemarketer and a scowl never left his lips. Two months ago Jack's mother stopped the sessions, assuming Jack was perfectly fine. She was wrong.

"wuh-why" Finn mustered out. "They're beautiful. Right. They are like paint on an empty canvas" Jack traced his fingers across the bruises. Finn just looked at this point, too lost in words to speak. They were beautiful, but they were also dangerous.

"Let me try something" Finn demands taking cautious steps toward the boy. Jack gave a shrug telling Finn he could. Finn reached the smaller boy, his hands trembling as he did. His grip was loose on Jack, Finn feared he would break him. Slowly his hands trailed to the hem of his shirt, swiftly pulling it off Jack's frail figure.

Finn's hands traced his shoulders as Jack let out a shudder at contact. Finn's body moved without the consent of his mind, he arms wrapping arm Jack's shoulders, pulling him closer. Finn slowly brought his lips down to Jack's neck taking time to admire it.

Suddenly he attached his lips to his neck, surely shocked and in utter delight Jack let out a gasp. While this happened around town Sophia laid on her bed, tears flooding her plush pillow.

She didn't understand why she cared so much about Chosen's opinion, he was dick. But it was true pain  for her at the point, it was a challenge for her to just sit and not dwell on what the boy said to her. Sophia glanced around her room, the soft pink calmed her down instantly, the way her father painted it made it more relaxing.

"I want to paint too". "come here let me show you hun".

The thought plastered a grin on her face as she thought of what her father said. When her father passed everything was in black and white, there was no light to aid her through life. It was as if life moved on without her, like she was stuck with father while life headed forward.

"Jer" Sophia called out only to get a gust of wind piling in from outside as a reply. Sophia let her eyes roll before pushing herself up from the comforting mattress. The warmth left her instantly which caused her to let out a shudder before taking a short step off the bed. The cool wood felt nice under her feet as she shuffled to the white door covered in dandelions.

Swiftly pulling the door open Sophia could feel a ball of heat fall into her room, giving a smile she welcomed the heat into her room. "Jer" she called again, still no reply. Sophia moved down the hall toward the direction of Jeremy's room which was a plain white door with a golden nob that got stuck in the heat of summer. Sophia managed to get to his room without waking their mother who was just an hour before drowning in booze, which was all she could after the death of her husband.

Sophia pulled at the door and swung it open, showing a girl with long fiery hair on top of Jeremy, being held in his grasp. Rage and panic erupted in Sophia causing a wave of emotions to hurry out along with her words, "What the hell is this". Out of their gaze both Jeremy and Sadie glance up to Sophia's deathful glare. "Let me explain" Both of them sat up as Sophia took long struts in their direction. "Then start brother" Sophia snapped, her eyes turning darker by the second.

"Well..." He began.

Jeremey looked cautiously around the library for a certain girl who entered moments before. A girl of fiery hair that burnt even the toughest steel. He glanced into the fiction section to see Sadie glance at a few books. She would pick one up, glance, place it back, and the repeat.

Finally Jeremy took long steps toward her. Thoughts clustered in his mind as he made his way to her, only on stuck. 'This is for Sophia'. He was now in front of her, her eyes gave a glare as she made a snappy comment about him being in the way. "I don't like the way you harass my sister" Jeremy informed, returning the glare.

"Listen Jer-" "No my sister was your best friend. You two were a team until you decided to give that up, you quit on her. Don't blame it on her she was the one who never stopped giving a sh-" He felt a pair of lips on his cheek. "I'll be nicer Jer" She replied before turing away without a book.

"I hate you both deeply" Sophia snapped as she turned toward the door, leaving without another word.
