PERSONAL BACKGROUND: Daehwi was born in Daegu, South Korea and immediately migrated to America when he was five years old and lived there for seven years. He is an only child. His dad died when he was a kid. Ever since he was a kid, his dream is to become an idol, so his mom supported him and they went back to Korea for him to pursue a career. He was a trainee back in JYP Entertainment for two years and also a trainee in Brand New Music for one year. He was close to TWICE, Jeon Somi, and trainee Bae Minho.
