A/N: For some reason, Wattpad won't let me really "edit" my own story. Anyways, I know it's been a long time, so here you go :) I think it's most of a filler really but, I'll let you be the judge.
--Evergreen Hospital ( Wednesday Morning)--
--Aria's POV--
So, Mom's in the hospital. She pretty much lost a good few chunks of her hair, and her face is practically skin and bones. Robbie knows what's going on now and he's been crying non-stop. I can't lie, I've been crying my eyes out as well. I hate seeing my mother like this, all frail and horrible looking. It breaks my heart because I know she's hurting, but I can't do anything about it. Something told me that sooner or later, she wasn't going to be here anymore and that it'd be my job to take care of Robbie. I just hope that it wasn't any time soon.
Robbie sat on my lap as I sat across from Ma. She was laying in her hospital bed coughing and hacking while trying to talk to me and Robbie.
I sighed and held back some strong tears just daring to drop from my eyes. "Ma, you don't have to talk. You can just rest. That's what you're supposed to do."
"Ari, hush. I want to speak with my babies, at least let me do that. All these doctors talkin' about I need to rest and shit, hell I've been sleeping enough. Let me be awake."
I nodded and let some tears fall. I really didn't want our whole family to be in a situation like this, but I guess everything happens for a reason.
"M-Mommy, a-are you gonna d-die?" Robbie's little voice squeaked. My mother's eyes and mine went wide.
"No baby. Mommy's not going anywhere okay? She's just in here for a little rest okay? I promise." My mother reached her hand over and intertwined it with Robbie's. He turned to me with huge eyes, I guess waiting for me to re-assure him.
I smiled a little and gave him a tight hug. "She'll be fine honey. Mommy's strong, she'll be fine."
Robbie nodded as if he almost didn't believe me and turned back to my mother. She held onto his hand tightly before landing her eyes on me. She looked tired, but I knew she was fighting it.
"When you get home Honey, make sure Robbie takes his baths okay? And make sure he does his homework and plays outside....I want him to be as comfortable as possible okay? Do that for me."
I nodded slowly. "Yes, Ma. I'll do it. I promise. Anything for you."
She nodded slightly before smiling back at Robbie. There was silence for a few moments until there was a knock at the door.
"Ms.Paula?" Tammy? What the fuck was she doing here?
My head whipped around towards her so fast that I thought I might actually get whiplash. "Why the hell are you here? This is a private family moment. Last time I checked you weren't in the family."
Tammy looked to me with cold eyes while leaning against the doorway. "Ms.Paula is like a second mother to me. Don't you dare say something like that. Show some respect for Christ's sake."
I laughed incredulously. Me? Show some respect? Oh fuck no. "Me? Bitch, you are the last person that should ever be telling someone to have some respect. Raggedy ass whore. I can'-"
"Stop this foolishness now! There is a child in the room! If you're going to argue, argue outside of my damn room will you? Jesus...." My mother croaked. She waved to Robbie and he climbed up onto the bed with her. "Now leave, the both of you. I can't deal with any negativity right now."
I nodded and obeyed my mother's wishes. My cheeks were a bright pink, indicating that what Tammy had said really got under my skin. I mean, who was she? Fucking Mother Theresa? There was no way in hell I was just going to let her get away with something like that.
