“THIS WAY TO THE FOTS” ---->says the sign pointing an arrow upstairs. Hayy. It was my first day here in my new school. Nope,
I am not a transferee BUT finally, I’m getting to college. And this day, the FOTS is going to be held here in my new school. FOTS stands for Freshmen Orientation Blah. Blah.… HAHA. It’s not like we’re having a real class but it’s part of being here as a freshmen daw. So, ayon, naging masunurin naman ako at umattend ako. But, I’ve attended the second batch. Kasi there’s two batches daw ngayon this year. Kami raw kasi ‘yong batch na pinakamarami, so I guess hinati nila but the way they divided it into two batches is somehow unclear. Maybe, it’s just random, well, anyways, that’s nothing to do with me either, I guess?
As I enter the room, I already saw a couple of students, freshmen like me sitting down na. And, I was shocked pa dahil, pagkapasok na pagkapasok ko, they all greeted me “Good morning Business Associate!” And I was like, “ O.O”, blushing a little, as one of the facilitators guided me to my chair. Yes! I’m kinda business student po. My school is a “businesss school”, and I am going to take B.S.Accountancy. It’s not like pinilit lang ako sa course na ‘yan, but it’s one of my dreams din kasi nong bata pa ko. And finally, here I am sitting with my hopefully co-future CPAs. Weee!
Then, the orientation started. They told us to introduce ourselves like we’ve done like a thousand times since we were in our grade schools. BUT, now, there’s a little difference, kasi ‘yong mga ibang tanong masyadong mabusisi (WOW! Lalim. >.< ). ‘Yon bang di mo expected na itatanong sa ganoong klaseng event.
And as I read what’s on the whiteboard, ganito ang nakasulat--à
What’s your name? (Oh, this one is so easy! HEHE)
History of your name? (O.O Mom won!! Geez. I’ve got to explain it, SRSLY???)
Status? (Whoa! This is gonna be so revealing! -_- I think I’m gonna deny about this. )
Age? (Well, at least I’m exactly sixteen and that’s the starting age of freshmen students I think??)
What do you want us to call you?? (Whaatt? Srsly? Well, iilan lang kasi ang students sa school na ito kaya malamang lamang they get to memorize all the names of students in here.)
“Hmmm. Ano ba naman ‘to?!”, I whispered to myself. Napatingin ‘yong katabi ko. She’s simple, nakalugay hair niya, she’s a little bit tanned, morena, parang ganoon? And she smiled at me. Maybe, she heard what I’ve said ?? No, not again! Tsss. I just smiled back at her with a little bit shyness (Talaga? :D)
I fished for my phone inside my bag, thinking if SOMEONE’S already texted me. But before I can light my phone up, the speaker in front called my name (Dejah), siguro nagtataka kayo kung pa’no niya nalaman? Well, actually, may sitting arrangement kaya siguro nandon sa seatplan names namin, or ma-feeling lang ako? Ah basta, he called my name.
I rise up against my chair immediately and kinuha ko ‘yong mic from the speaker. Yes!
“Hi! My name’s Dejah Thris Aracelli! You can call me, Dej (pronounced as ‘dedge’), and umupo na ko, bigla silang nagtawanan! Hayy.! Ang bobo ko naman oh! Start pa lang ‘to, sabit agad. Ano na lang magiging first impression nila about me?!! I imagined na everytime, makakasalubong ko sinuman sa room na ‘to, ang sasabihin, “siya ‘yong, parang ewan sa orientation!!” And then, bigla ko ring naisip na tama rin palang 2 batches ‘to, at least, hindi alam nong naunang batch ang nagawa kong CRIME na ka-stupidahan ngayon. But then, pa’no na lang kung may magkwento ?? Diba?? Oh, land! Swallow me now!!
