My alarm clock goes off too early the next morning.
I hate monday mornings, just like everyone else.

I get out of bed, walking towards the bath room when I hear my mom yell.

"Megan, are you up?"

"Yeah mom, what is it?"

My mom enters my bedroom and pulls the curtain back.

"Can I borrow some money for today?" My mom begs.

"Yeah sure, look in my purse."

"Thanks sweetie." She gives me a kiss on my cheek and leaves.

Great way to start my monday.
I hate borrowing money, especially to my mom. Sure it's my mom and she buys groceries from my money and stuff but most of the time I don't get it back.

I quickly change my clothes, comb my hair and head downstairs to get some breakfast.

I immediately loose my appetite when I see my mom talking to a man at the front door.
I can't hear them and I don't know who the man is but I can hear it's no good.

I sigh, grab my bag and an apple and get my bike to go to school.

I'm waiting for Emily who is, again, too late. Luckily we always meet up a little early so we're never late.

She's coming on her bike with an apple in her mouth and I can't do anything but laugh.

"Sorry sorry sorry, forgot the time."

"It's okay Em, we'll be on time anyway."

20 minutes later we arrive at school.

"Hey Meg, how's your head?" Danielle looks pretty concerned but I give her a smile.

"I'm fine! Just a little bump on the back of my head but with Advil I will survive."

~

The first two classes passed by quickly and it was lunch time now.

"I'm going to the canteen to get a salad, be right back!"
Humming while walking down stairs I hear someone yelling my name.

"Megan, hey!"

I turn around and see Luke. I immediately feel my cheeks heating up.

Luke is Charlotte's older brother. He's one of the rare boys on this school, because it's a education to become a teacher.
I guess not many boys want to be a teacher.

"Hi!"

Don't blush, don't blush.

"How are ya?" He asks while putting his arm around my shoulders.
We walk further down and I'm trying not to bump into his side.

"Hungry like always. I was on my way to the canteen. What about you?" I smile.

"I'm good and I'm walking with you, I'm gonna grab a sandwich." He laughs while rubbing his stomach.

When we get to the canteen, Luke is behind me in line.

When I got a salad, I want to get some money out of my wallet but I realise I don't have any because my mom has got it now.

"Damn it!" I groan.

Luke looks at me with a confused look.

"I forgot that I gave some money to my mom this morning and know I don't have enough. It's so stupid there's no ATM in school."

I sigh and put my salad back on the shelf.

But Luke picks it up again and smirks.
"Really, you don't think I'm gonna let you starve right?"

"That's very sweet, thanks Luke. I give it back to you tomorrow, promise!"

"Yeah that's alright. But there's only thing I want to trade for that salad." He says.

"What is it?"

"Your lunchtime, stay with me please?" He smiles.

I can't help but smile back and I feel my cheeks burning again.

"Yes offcourse!"

And when I said those words, he drags me to a table.
