he had no idea what it was, but he woke up with a gut feeling telling him he should go to class today. maybe there was an important test, or another dumb lecture that'll "save your future." josh scoffed as he rolled out of bed, sadly the oh-so familiar smell of cheap alcohol filled his nose. most "normal" kids his age woke up to the smell of freshly cooked bacon and eggs. and josh? well he woke up to the horrid smell of old booze. but this was his life and he had to learn to live like this.
josh didn't bother taking a shower, he knew it wouldn't wash away the lingering feeling of disgust, and do nothing but leave his hair soaking wet. so instead, he threw on a plain black t-shirt, some skinny jeans and an old pair of converse.

josh awkwardly walked into first period just as the bell was about to ring. he noticed an unfamiliar face sitting in the seat next his, but decided not to pay any attention to it. "glad you decided to join us today." his english teacher said looking up from his computer. josh only nodded his head wanting to get to his seat as quickly as he could.
through his peripheral vision, he noticed the brunette staring at him.
josh turned his head, his mocha eyes meeting a pair of chocolatey doe ones. the boy sitting near him almost immediately turned the other direction, a light shade of pink filling his cheeks. josh chuckled; he wasn't one to break hearts, but he did enjoy messing with people. it was clear to him that the new kid was attracted to him in some way. he sat back in his seat, a devilish smirk formed on his face as he thought of ways to tease the still blushing boy.
