"well..i'm gay too," tyler said with a small smile. josh hated when he made tyler smile, not because he despised him, but because he knew that eventually he'll be the reason that his smile fades, and his lively cheeks filled with color would go dull, and his once delicate doe eyes sit emotionless in the slits on his face. "do you maybe wanna hang out sometime? i-it's okay if you don't." josh was taken out of his thoughts upon hearing the brunette speak.
"of course, ty." tyler was happy to say the least. who wouldn't be? he'd been at his new school for barley a week and already ready the school's hottest most intimidating guy was interested in him. he'd be screaming and bouncing off the walls like an echo if the boy of his dreams wasn't standing right in front of him, watching his every move.

tyler walked home happily, anxious to spend time with josh outside of school. even when they were in school they never had proper conversations, josh always did most of the talking as tyler was too flustered to form a sentence without stuttering. meanwhile, josh walked towards his house dragging his feet, not wanting to ever go back. he was glad that he had tyler wrapped around this finger like a python, but he was starting to feel like he was doing something wrong. he noticed how he only made the brunette happier, even though josh's plan didn't consist of keeping him around for very long. josh stopped dragging his fee along the dirty concrete when he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, signaling he had a text.
bren:
how are things with you and dreamer boy? ;)
j:
i told him i was gay and now we're hanging out sometime soon. is it too late to bail?
bren:
yes asshole! listen, my wallet is counting on you two
j:
...what the hell are you talking about?
bren:
me and ry made a bet and if u fuck tyler by next friday he owes me $30. so if you don't mind lets get this show on the road shall we?
j:
tyler's a good kid and i don't wanna break his heart beyond repair because of your gambling issues.
after the last text josh sent, he placed his phone back into his pocket, ignoring the constant string of texts he was receiving. he was starting to feel something for tyler but he didn't quite know what it was; they've only known each other for a few days so josh decided to ignore that reoccurring feeling in the pit of his stomach. i've fucked people and cut them off the next day why's tyler any different? he asked himself. even if he did go along with the bet then what? would he and tyler still be friends? or would they just miraculously stop talking like all the other one-night stands?
josh didn't know exactly what to do. although it may not have been the right choice, he decided to go along with the bet, fully aware of the consequences. he knew that his friends wouldn't take no for an answer, so to avoid any annoying useless convincing he was just going to do it. besides, tyler wouldn't find out anyway...right?
