Alexandra

Today was the clan battle and I've never felt so anxious. I have no idea who I'm going up against, Maximus is still angry with me, and my mother is reconsidering if I should even participate in the clan battle from the events that took place last night.

I threatened Maximus, it was unlike me to do something like that to him after all he has done for me. I grimaced at the thought of that night and it gave me chills just thinking about it.

The clan battle was in a few hours and I was just getting prepared by putting on my armor.

"Alexandra?" I looked up and looked at the door realizing Corinna was calling me from the hall.

"Come in Corinna!" I told her while putting on my wrist bracelets.

"Are you about ready to go? The guards are ready to escort you to the
arena." Corinna said walking into my room.

"Yeah, I'm ready to go," I replied quietly looking down at the shiny emerald in my sword.

"Is everything alright dear?" Corinna asked sitting next to me on the bed.

"It's just... what I did last night was unforgivable, and I think Maximus hates me for it," I told her before I broke down crying. She put her arm around my shoulder and tried to comfort me.

"Oh, Alexandra! He could never hate you! We all make mistakes dear, but all we can do is learn from them. Forgive and forget, right?"

"Right..." I repeated wiping away my tears.

"I've seen how you look at him, he's special to you," Corinna said nudging me and giggling.

"I'm not right for him. He's already going through so much, I don't want to add on to those problems he already has. There are other girls out there that are perfect for him anyway. Like Queen Helena." I said sadly playing with my hands.

"Alexandra, when love is real... you don't love someone because they are perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they are not. We all have our flaws Alexandra, but that is what makes us beautiful and help us learn how to love others with flaws as well." Corinna stated standing up from the bed. I smiled with tears running down my face and hugged Corinna as tight as I could.

"Thank you so much!" I sobbed choking back tears.

"Aw! No problem dear! Now go out there and show them who you are!" Corinna encouraged me as I gave her a hopeful smile and left the room.

I was being escorted to the arena by a chariot with two guards on both sides of the horse pulling it slowly. There was a crowd of villagers on their way to the arena as well. As the guards made a path for the chariot to go through the crowd, they all suddenly looked my way and began clapping and cheering excitedly. I looked at them in confusion and wonder before waving shyly at them.

We arrived at the arena in short time and immediately saw the normally empty seats, filled. The arena was separated into two sections which would normally be three if the Potria clan wouldn't have been disqualified. The King of Tomocian was spotted at the top of the seats with guards on each side of him in the Tomocian section, as well as my mother in the Nacoleon section.

There were two sides on the inside of the arena. One side was the Tomocian clan's gladiators, and the other was Nacoleon's gladiators. I made my way down to Nacoleon's side and spotted Maximus.
