Helena

We were all walking through the ruins of the village that used to be bright and crowded to get to the Unarius kingdom which was up in the mountains. We weren't even halfway there, and knowing that Vagar sent his deadly skeleton army to Tomocian was disturbing to comprehend since that was the first time Tomocian was ever attacked and it only happened when we were there.

"So Helena, mind telling us what made your brother go all crazy and evil? I could use a good story on this BORING journey." Felix asked spinning and throwing his spear up into the air repeatedly.

"We literally just fought a skeleton army... how are you already bored." Maximus asserted while holding his side.

"Shh! I wasn't talking to you." Felix sneered putting a finger up to his mouth. Maximus rolled his eyes and kept quiet. I peered behind me and sighed.

"He should've never ended up like this." I began gaining their attention.

"My mother and father were very, logical. Too logical for my taste. They were so driven to make everything 'flawless' that they basically restricted everyone in the Unarius clan from doing anything outside their homes. But back to my brother, he was very creative, unbelievably intelligent, and an excellent liar." I explained giggling to myself remembering the memories I shared with him.

"But when my parents brought up who they wanted to be heir to the throne, he went absolutely ballistic. He began changing his attitude by being a sophisticated prick of a brother." I mumbled angrily changing my tone.

"He wasn't the same Vagar I knew as a child..." I murmured silently slowing down my walking pace. Maximus and Felix glanced at each other for a moment as if they could relate.

"But when the news came from my parents, Vagar was devastated. They wanted me to be Queen of Unarius when they died. Not him. They thought he was immature and sneaky which was true, but he changed his whole personality just to impress them. It angers me just to think about it. When they announced who was going to be heir to the throne, Vagar began sulking around the castle, began ignoring me, and began practicing dark magic." I stated staring at the ground all the while.

"You already know what went down after that I assume," I concluded stopping in my tracks. Tears began to form in my eyes as I tried so hard to keep them at bay.

"Helena?" Alexandra called out softly. I fell to my knees and sobbed into my hands. I felt weak and vulnerable and I absolutely hated it. All I wanted was my brother back but I have a feeling that I already lost him.

"She's crying, what do I do?" Felix whispered to Maximus.

"Go comfort her," Maximus replied blandly.

"How do I do that?" Felix asked sounding even more clueless.

"Start with hugs." Maximus snapped back starting to sound annoyed.

"With what?" Felix asked raising an eyebrow. Maximus gave him a questionable look and shook his head disappointingly.

"Never mind..." Maximus mumbled under his breath.

Alexandra kneeled down next to me and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Helena, there still might be a chance that we can bring Vagar back to his senses. He is still human after all." She told me hopefully smiling brightly. As I was about to reply, I heard loud footsteps from afar getting closer.
