Chapter One: The Journal.
~Ash's POV~
'So I got a new journal today. That's just because it is my birthday today,and that's both good and bad.
Firstly,now I'm 14. And that's a horrible thing. That just means I'll be stuck in this orphanage,probably forever. Nobody wants a teenager when they can adopt an adorable child.
Whatever. I'll introduce myself,I guess,in case anyone finds this after I'm dead.
Hey,my name is Ash. Well,I was born with the name Ashlynn,but I prefer Ash or Ashton. Burns is my last name. I just turned 14,and I am a transgender. Yep,I am a boy now. At least,with my hair and looks,because I'm not old enough for surgery and things like that. Sexuality? Yeah,I'm gay. I'm very pale,and my hair is a very light blonde color. My eyes are actually different colors without me using contacts or anything. My left eye is an ice blue,and my right eye is more of a green. Strange,eh?
I think that's enough about me,though. I do wear glasses also,but that isn't important. I'll write more tomorrow.'
I closed the notebook and sighed,sliding it under my bed with my foot. I was just about to lay down to take a nap when I heard the kids downstairs screaming. Rolling my eyes,I stood up and walked to the stairs. I slid down the railing and landed on my feet before I could hit the ground. I walked over to the small television to see why the children were so excited. I couldn't help but smile when I saw what was on the screen.
It was an interview with the pilots that came back from space. Takashi Shirogane,Keith Kogane,Lance McClain,Hunk Garett,Pidge Gunderson,and Matthew Holt. Keith was my personal favorite.
I sat down on the floor and watched the broadcast. It wasn't live,of course,just a replay. I didn't watch for long because I heard the orphanage door open. My shy side getting the best of me,I scrambled up and behind the couch. I only got the courage to look when I heard two familiar,male voices.
